I am in the process of installing scripts to my database and looking at the two scripts available for images, I am totally without a clue as to which script would work best for my site.  :o

Images will be especially important to me because the site will be a gallery of sorts for "objets d'art".
When I say gallery, I am not referring to a "gallery" persay. The site will feature these art objects for sale.
Anyone know anything about these 2 different image scripts?

All info/advice appreciated! Smile
Bell the best thing I can tell you is to make
a couple of sample pages using each script.

Make them live on the net and see how various
browsers react to the different scripts.

I tend to not use many scripts because
sometimes one script can interfere with another
and the user may start getting error messages
in different browsers causing them to hit the back button.

Now professional programmers (not all) usually understand
this but still I wonder how some of them do make some
awesome commercial sales sites that don't have bugs or conflicts in the scripts.

I guess that's why they get paid the big bucks.

There doesn't seem to be a consensus on which is best.  Smile

4images usually receives slightly more positive comments than Coppermine whenever there is a thread comparing the two, and it is also rated higher/has better reviews at Hotscripts.  On the downside, the 4images support site is in German (their support forum is in English though).

Reviews at HotScripts:

4images support site:http://www.4homepages.de/
Sites using 4images:http://www.4homepages.de/resources/
Coppermine site: http://coppermine-gallery.net/index.php

I would try the demos on the Coppermine and 4 images sites, and look at some of the sites using them.
I knew someone would come along that knows what the heck they are talking about.  Notworthy
Wow, fast response.
Thank you guys!

You both make good points---I guess i will just have to play with them.

Thanks for the links, Bargain.

PS// Is there a prize available for being the first person to post to the T.S. Forum? Big Grin

Xp, a dumb question from a clueless non-techie.

Don't you have to use scripts on a website?
You can use static html pages that do nothing but sit there.  You need scripts for shopping carts and everything else.

Blame regic for the yellow throw-up color  Smile  This forum is using the same problem solving format as the Guess What? forum uses.  regic thought it would be perfect for a support forum. (I don't think it is and would like to change it back to the normal format).  The instructions for this type of board are here: http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...,82.0.html
