I suspect deals were made ahead of time.
I suspect these deals had to do with LARGE sums of money
eBay pays to Google for Ad words and the fact that at a drop of a
hat eBay could simply decide to do Ad words with another company's
search engine instead of Google's.

I suspect eBay made it quit clear who's bread was being
buttered with millions in ad revenue and as a result...
I suspect that is why TOOLS were NOT developed by
GP to make it easy for ebay sellers to point their customers to
GP to pay for their winnings way before the roll out a couple of months ago.

In essence ebay played hard ball and Google rolled over leaving probably
hundreds of thousands of sellers disappointed, who were ready to jump off PP's ship.

Right back to anti trust again guys.. Dividing up customers in back room deals
to stifle true competition between the two payment services.
