The Internet has become a great leveler, providing almost a level playing field to people in both rural and urban areas. The growth of Internet penetration in the top eight metros, second and three-tier towns have lead to broad based participation of people in e-commerce across India.

Experts expect online shopping to increase with the population of netizens in India – currently 38.5 million – estimated to swell to 100 million by 2007.
