press release:

Quote:EBay North America President William C. Cobb impressed a lot of sometimes-disgruntled top eBay sellers this weekend, bringing 16 eBay and PayPal colleagues and delivering a well-received keynote address to the 10/27-29 Professional eBay Sellers Alliance (PESA) Summit event in Austin, Texas, sponsored by UPS.

PESA Executive Director Jonathan Garriss commented, “At the beginning of 2005, eBay made a promise to listen to its community more intently. With the participation of Bill Cobb at our Fall Summit, it is clear that the fulfillment of that promise is being led from the top.”

If eBay's community consisted solely of the 870 PeSA members then yes ithe statement that it is listening more intently to its community would be true.  I really haven't noticed eBay listening more intently to the rest of its community--customer service emails still go unanswered, requests that the majority of the community are in favor of (e.g. no new "enhancements" during the holiday selling season) are still ignored, etc, etc. I think Jonathan is living in dreamland because while eBay may be listening intently when Gotham City Online (Jonathan's company) speaks, they sure aren't listening when smaller eBay sellers voice their opinions.
