This is probably a DUMB question...

Remember my sister's old computer I was going to tear apart? 
IF her model is KNOWN to have the power supply take a dump and take the mother board with it... will the same problem happen again if these items are replaced? 
I can replace parts and such, but I'm not always on the ball as to what part works with what and how. 
Are you beating a dead horse, Anita?

Should be the mobo is the main guts to your pute.

I understand that, BUT if it is a common problem for the power supply to blow and take the mb with it... wouldn't it happen again if I replace them both with the same exact parts? 
I'm not smart enough to figure out if a different brand will fit/work... so all I can do is replace with the same part numbers.

Clear as mud?
