I think it is all about the short term numbers - if eBay can make those numbers look good nobody looks behind the curtain. And eBay is still riding the overall expansion of the internet, so the numbers do look good.
For the time being, it seems that regardless of the incompetency at the top, eBay will continue to make money. And that is all Wall Street cares about.
