The Left side info explained:
Zodiac sign- can be set in your profile (you only need to put the date and month...the year can be blank)
Flag-click on the member maps button to put your pin on the map and get a flag
Member Ranks-- Newbie, Junior Member, Member, Bill's Big Thing, etc
Karma- most people have positive Karma except someone named Kim who has a rating of -499
Gender- if you don't know this one...
The 0 under the posts number is for shop points.  The shop won't work until the software comes out of beta, but when it does you'll be able to use the shop points you earn when posting to steal posts from Ginger and prevent her from ever becoming a Yakkoholic  :twistedevil:

The blue bar at the bottom shows how many posts you need until you reach the next member level.

You can adjust the settings for most of the left side info in your profile.
