Negative keywords are specific words or phrases that help prevent your ads from being displayed to customers who are unlikely to click them. For example, if your ad sells televisions and you have specified "TV" as a keyword, but you don’t want search queries to produce results on entertainment-type searches, you could specify "listings," “soap,” and "show" as negative keywords.

There are several ways to work with negative keywords at the campaign level, depending on how many campaigns you want to change.

To add negative keywords at the campaign level for a new campaign:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab.
  2. Click Create campaign.
  3. In the Name text box, type the name of the new campaign.
  4. To add negative keywords to your campaign, first click Advanced options, and then in the text box, type the negative keywords (separated by commas)...
