Warning: A few months ago, my external hard drive crashed and died.  Tongue2  In addition to other things, I lost my entire itunes library of 600+files ($600)!    :o  Using an external drive does not mean that you should not back up your files elsewhere! Smile

By design, the user manages their content through iTunes, and ideally never even looks at the underlying file system, much less worries about moving files around.
