A Call For Domain Parking Industry Standards

When are we going to get standards our of the parking companies? ...

Without standards and auditability domainers may as well toss a coin each month to work out what they get paid. Heads, you get an increase in earnings, tails you don't. If anyone suggests that this is not the case then I'll ask them to prove it. Show me web logs and an external auditors certificate certifying a parking companies internal processes are "clean as a whistle" and I'll change my views.

The problem that's occurring is that parking companies basically say, "trust us, we'll pay you correctly" but at the same time they don't trust domainers...

Here's an idea:

If you own a domain, develop it.  If you're not developing it, keep your spammy parked pages from cluttering the internet and keep it offline.

Google and Yahoo would disagree. ;D Between them they generated almost $900 million in revenues (almost 5% of their total) from domain parking programs last year.  All of those parked GoDaddy domains you see are also part of Google's AdSense for Domains program.
