Why is Yahoo so slow in ranking newer websites?
Quote:Yahoo! has guys like Jeremy Zawodny marketing their fresh new search platform, and yet they remain behind the competition. Microsoft jumped into the search field way later than Yahoo! did, so why is it that Microsoft rankings for well promoted sites often roughly track Google rankings, while Yahoo! still has yet to give many of these sites an opportunity to rank?... full article: http://www.seobook.com/why-does-yahoo-se...r-websites |

Slow at ranking new sites, slow at indexing new sites. but I actually think they've improved since last year (at least in terms of indexing new sites).
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"
"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site. best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011 |

Interesting - in 2005, Yahoo was the first SE to index our site, while ASK was the last. On the other hand, Google has gotten much faster about crawling & indexing from just a couple years ago. |

Quote:I actually think they've improved since last year (at least in terms of indexing new sites). Think again A perfect example of Yahoo's slow indexing of new sites: Zen #8 (opened January 2008): Google 4,960 pages indexed;Yahoo 3 pages indexed. It isn't a new domain name either. We registered it in 2005 and used it for our MarketWorks store for over a year. |
