good inkjet printer recommendations?

Hi Everyone,
My inkjet quasi-died and I'm in the market for a new one.  Any recommendations on a good low-cost ($100 range) inkjet printer that does good quality prints?  Speed isn't an issue for me.  Neither is networkability.  I've heard the HP's are good?  Anybody here have one and love it? If so, which model number.  I'm a mac person, btw (don't know if that matters much, most are compatible with both.)
I've had a few Epsons--loved the quality, but the have had the same recurring problems--if I don't use them regularly (meaning at least once every 3 weeks) the print heads get jammed.  I called up my local computer mega-chain and the salesguy admitted that this is a recurring Epson problem.
Any recommendations?
