YouTube Pulls McCain Campaign Videos For DMCA Copyright Violations

YouTube has pulled some videos posted by the McCain campaign after receiving complaints from news outlets that they were violating copyright. Here's a case in which YouTube has fallen victim to its own fear -- the fear of being sued by media companies as large as itself -- and the Republican presidential candidate has fallen victim to his own votes. YouTube finds itself stuck between a rock and a hard place. The McCain campaign is upset because YouTube removed some of its campaign ads. YouTube says it simply was responding to demands from the owners of content used in the ads. The real problem is the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
