PROPOSED NEW TT RULES FOR AUCTION RELATED THREADS AND POSTS
PROPOSED NEW TT RULES FOR AUCTION RELATED THREADS AND POSTS
1. TT members must at all times refer to eBay as either Feebay or ovEr thErE 2. Posts which are critical of tiny eBay alternative auction sites whose monthly GMV is less than I sell in a day are discouraged. Threads which are critical of tiny eBay alternative auction sites will be locked if the site owners or site cheerleaders complain. 3. From this day forward, any post which voices a legitimate business concern shall be labeled a "negative post" and the user voicing the complaint will be ostracized and labeled as either a troll or jealous type. TT members are encouraged to start endless threads bashing individual TT members who have voiced legitimate business concerns about selling on eBay alternative auction sites. 4. Threads which are critical of tiny auction sites that advertise on TT will also be locked. 5. Small eBay alternative auction site owners are strongly encouraged to spam every thread and to attack sellers who voice legitimate selling related business concerns about selling on specific auction sites. 6. Threads about large non-eBay venues where buyers outnumber sellers such as Amazon, Etsy, Pricegrabber Storefronts, Buy.com Marketplace, Alibris, Play.com, etc are strongly discouraged. Likewise threads about CSEs (comparison shopping engines) other than Google Base/Product Search are to be kept to a minimum. 7. Members are strongly encouraged to join at least 5 tiny eBay alternative auction sites and to choose their venues based on fun, community, and the site owner's participation in TT threads. 8. TT members are encouraged to participate in at least one eBay boycott per week 9.  TT members are required to have at least 2 oversized clickable animated banners in their forum signatures. The use of affiliate program links in signatures is also strongly encouraged. 10. TT will be introducing a new TT supporters program. TT Members who donate cash to TT will be valued more highly tha those who don't. 11. When taking selling advice from other TT members, TT users should judge the merit of the advice given based on the number of forum posts the advice giver has, rather than the advice giver's actual selling experience, 12. Any TT member caught encouraging other sellers to open a website instead of listing on the alternative du jour will be subject to death by firing squad. DISCLAIMER: this post is in ALL ways meant to poke fun at off-eBay OAI forums
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"
"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site. best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011 |

One more suggestion:
13. When any admin or owner of a small eBay alternative decides to post, we must: a) Listen with admiration for their hard work installing a $200 boxed script. b) Show absolute respect for their goals to take on eBay. c) Believe in their vision that if you build it to look like every other little auction site, buyers will come. d) Never call them boinktard, joke, sham, laughing stock, or waste of time.
"Listen up Mother****er. Try that bulls*** here and I will hand you and your head in a basket"
- Ray Romeo's alter ego Andrew Pittino responding when I signed up a new account on Wagglepop to verify the non-existence of a way to opt out of his sharing my information with third parties. |
