Re: Atomic Mall's Owner Preaches the Seller to Seller Sales Doctrine
Is he counting one sale a month as "sales"? After checking out a couple other PSU stores, I can honestly say Elgato's Den is the ugliest PSU store I've seen. Maybe instead of sitting on PSU, he should spend some time on that store of his.

Good to know PSU was a cesspool before I even joined. Let them play in the mud. I feel much cleaner now.

Quote: thousands of way overpriced movies (many over MSRP)

Based on the prices, and time to ship, they're probably using Baker & Taylor through Productsourcing.com (which is owned by Doba).  DVDs that I can get for $3-$4 from my supplier will cost you $9-$11 if you order through them.

The appearance of that store could be contributing to his slow sales.

The insecure account login might be a contributing factor too. Can PSU store owners enable SSL on their sites?

Re: Atomic Mall's Owner Preaches the Seller to Seller Sales Doctrine
I got a couple of sales on AM (I think 5) but it was the popular stuff anyways. So, if they hadn't bought it, someone else would have, and I'd save the 5% FVF.

It was tough breaking away from the bandwagon, but I've always been an outcast...LOL Or maybe I should say I've never been a blind follower. I'm doing pretty good on my site, but the problem is it's tough for me to keep my store stocked. The stuff I sell is tough to come by.

I think once the forum gets set good, I will branch out into other areas where I can get some good supply or drop ship.

Not all PSU stores are badly designed, but for him to be the spokesman doesn't help it much.
Here are a couple as cleanly designed as possible for a Joomla store:
http://www.amrystastytreasures.com
http://www.boogiebobsrecords.com

And, yet, a couple more bad ones like Elgato's that remind me of a badly themed RScript auction stores from Wagglepop:
http://craftpatternsstore.com/
http://www.iluv2collect2.com/ <--- Note to self, don't pick a domain name the same as an eBay ID... this basicaly ruins SEO efforts for the site.
And, while I am at it, don't make the impatient and easily confused eBay shopper scroll down through 2 pages of banners before getting to your products in your eBay store.

Here is the only one I can find that has SSL enabled.

But, it's another really ugly one.  Happy001

my advice would be to cut out the middleman and work with the suppliers in their movies category directly

Baker and Taylor =Sinai
Ingram Entertainment =Bogart
Super D =Platinum

oops, I posted the real names of their suppliers Confusedtolensmiley:
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site.
best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011

Mikey Wrote:With our new category structure and pages behind us, (plus the fact that I like to break news or launch sites on the 1st day of the month), I felt the time was right to uncork the next big project in the Atomic Mall timeline: Auctions.

In the coming weeks and months, we will be developing a new and exciting auction format that will be unique to Atomic Mall. It will be known as the "Atomic Auction", and will consist of a bidding and buying structure not found elsewhere on the web. A short time ago we secured the domain atomicauction.com in anticipation of this landmark upgrade. It will become a sister site to Atomic Mall, hosting only those listings which fit our new auction format.

Weee, another new feature. How about doing something really revolutionary in the rinky dink world and advertise the site to buyers? I've yet to see one post by this boinktard that says when the site will start advertising to BUYERS.  More echoes of WP2.

Well, those dedicated AMers better be sure to get their items on that new auction site and startem off at a penny. If they have that much assurance of their ruler...LOL

I got lots of pennies.

The great majority of the existing 1700 items on AM are 'experimental' listings.  I just started adding some of my Wagglepop items, my main stuff, on 8-17-2009.  Not all listings are equal.  You should be able to understand this when you start to see the sales roll in. Hiding
