Anita Wrote:DoubleNutFudge mentioned this on the Stores Board. If it is true... Google is DOOMED!Umm, have you seen the articles on here this week? Google obviously already did hire eBay's entire programing staff. Just this week there's been: Porn in people's base, security holes in people's base, security holes and other people's eyeballs looking at your site map stats, poor planning forced them to stop new registrations for google analytics a day after it launched, and the list of bugs/security holes goes on and on and on...and that's just 1-week. Yep, they definitely hired eBay's entire programming staff.

Re: Google trying to hire EBAY programmers?!
Yes, I did read about all the Google glitches lately. I'm AMAZED that any company would want to hire eBay employees.
Apparently, whoever does the hiring at Google has never bought, sold, or tried to navigate around the eBay sites! |

Apparently, whoever does the hiring at Google has never bought, sold, or tried to navigate around the eBay sites! [/quote] Oh great, that sounds like a site that is going to have a ton of problems and a ton of wish lists for them from it's members. They should at least take the time to get experience on eBay to see what it's like and what people are going to want and expect. That's how I became a seller, I bought a few things first to get experience as a buyer to know a little more on how to list my auctions to what people want or expect in descriptions. |

Re: Google trying to hire EBAY programmers?!
Everyone still has to remember this "base" thing is in BETA.
One thing I've notice is that EVERYBODY in the online auction WORLD at feebay seemed to be REAL quick to jump on board and use the "base" to list all their stuff they are selling at feebay as soon as the BETA "base" went live. : IMO The smart ones didn't list items and refer a potential buyer back to feebay to purchase. The others well Have a drink on me. This to me is an indication that EVERYONE involved in e commerce who usually would rely on feebay for their bread and butter is desperately seeking ANYTHING that offers an alternative. I wonder why? :-\ Are hits down at the bay? Are sales slow at the bay? Or perhaps the bay sellers are not fetching the $$$ for their wares they NEED to survive at the bay anymore? Seems to me from what I've read, that so many feebay sellers feel an immediate NEED to BREAK the bonds of the tired old arrogant company that thinks they rule the Internet and it's sellers. (As Meg and co. has referred to us all AS being on many occasions. Our "sellers") This alone may have cause the problems the new beta "base" experienced. IMO I have other thoughts on factors as well like... Oh maybe, Google is pissed that feebay has already outlawed their payment service before it is even out their? hmmmmmmmmm > Imagine millions trying to access your servers all at the same time as if they were drowning and desperately reaching from the freezing waters of a ship going down wanting so desperately to be the ones to be rescued. I can see the immediate NEED and desires of so many can't you? BTW Happy Turkey day too all. We ate ham.
