PayPal Allows Racist White Power UK Political Party to Use PayPal to Raise Funds
The British National Party, a UK political party with a long hostory of racist and anti-immigrant rhetoric and actions is using PayPal's services to raise funds.  During the 1980's and 1990's some of this group's biggest supporters included violent 'white power' UK skinhead gangs.

Quote:Tory MP Ben Wallace has written to the boss of PayPal Europe over concerns that the online payment service is being used to raise funds for the British National Party (BNP).

The MP for Lancaster & Wyre was reacting to a campaign set in motion by his local branch of Unite Against Fascism (UAF) which claims that the BNP's extremist views breach Paypal's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) which states that "You many not use PayPal in the purchase or sale of items or support of organizations that promote hate, violence, or racial intolerance."

In 2004 Barclays and HSBC closed the accounts of the BNP following an undercover documentary by the BBC into the actions of the party

You might recall that back in September PayPal froze over $30,000 in funds that had been raised for Hurricane Katrina victims by a humor web site: http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...310.0.html .  It really doesn't say much for either PayPal, its parent company eBay, or Meg Whitman's morality, that it allows fundraising by a political party with a long history of racism and immigrant bashing, and yet it forbids funds to be raised and distributed to hurricane victims.

Here's a little background on the British National Party http://www.tolerance.org/news/article_print.jsp?id=255
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site.
best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011

Re: PayPal Allows Racist White Power UK Political Party to Use PayPal to Raise Funds
Quote: Paypal's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) which states that "You many not use PayPal in the purchase or sale of items or support of organizations that promote hate, violence, or racial intolerance."

Quote:Asked to comment a spokesman for PayPal said: "PayPal has no evidence that the BNP is in breach of its acceptable use policy.

If the boinkhead piece of wombat poo poo PayPal spokesman wants evidence that these scum are in breach of its AUP  he can visit the BBC web site.  They did a documentary  exposing  the BNP's activities.

ExhibitA:

Quote:In October 1990, The British National Party was described by the European Parliament's committee on racism and xenophobia as an "openly Nazi party... whose leadership have serious criminal convictions".

When asked if the BNP was racist, Edmonds said, "We are 100 per cent racist, yes".

Exhibit B

Quote:In early 1992, the BNP formed Combat 18 as a stewarding group to protect its events. Combat 18, taking its name from the first and eighth letter of the alphabet - AH - for Adolph Hitler, attracted the most violent supporters of Britain's far right.

Its leaders include Paul David 'Charlie' Sargent, a man with convictions for drug running

Exhibit C

Quote:C18 published a glossy magazine, Combat 18, which suggested that all non-whites should "be shipped back to Africa, Asia, Arabia, alive or in body bags".

Its members were urged to "execute" homosexuals and "white race mixers" and "weed out Jews in government, the media, arts and professions".

The PayPal spokesman is  a brainless boinking moron if he thinks the BNP doesn't violate PayPal's AUP and "promote hate, violence, and racial intolerance" .  Anything for a profit I guess.
