ebay just isn't into anything charity unless they get listing fees, fvf fees, paypal fees, $10.00 minimum plus $3.00 and 2.9%!  lol

On one hand ebay thinks it's invincible.

On the other, I think ebay is afraid. VERY afraid. Confused1

Yep, their take on it was that it was fee avoidance:

Quote:Hello Jen,

Thank you for writing to eBay's Community Watch. My name is Lesley and I
understand that you still have questions about our guidelines for the
About Me page.

Please know that the About Me page is to allow eBay members to tell the
Community more about themselves, it was not meant to promote services or
items off the site. You may tell viewers to check out your website or
other websites, however, you may not mention the fact that products or
services are available on these websites. Therefore, if you were to
solicit or promote off eBay items or services for this site it would be
considered to be a violation of our Fee Circumvention guidelines and
will not be permitted.

For more information on our About Me Guidelines policy, please visit the
following URL:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/list...outme.html

Thank you for being a valuable member of the eBay community.

Warm regards,

Lesley

BBH was right and I was wrong--I really thought it would fall under the "hate speech" guidelines.  Happy001

$200 shipping = not fee avoidance

Free = Fee avoidance

Only in ebays world could this happen (the truth is stranger then fiction)  Wink

Online Workshops For the Week of December 12th
We would like to invite you to attend the following workshops this week:

About Me Page Design Basics

This workshop will be held on Monday, December 12th, from 13:00 PT to 14:00 PT. Did you know that every eBay member can have their own personal mini-website on eBay by creating an "About Me" page? Workshop hosts shipscript, *zip and merrygocats will discuss how to attract attention with your About Me page, focusing on basic page layout, use of color and fonts, photo placement, and how to format text to balance the page.
