Quote:As Ebay continues to grow, so too do security problems. A new wave of hackers has found an innovative way to hijack user accounts. All you need is a program to rapidly test possible passwords, and a little bit of patience. In the same article, an eBay Germany seller complains eBay was slow to act when his account was hijacked: Quote:Even professional "power seller" Peter Klein from the Swabian city of Nördlingen fell victim to the scam, when hackers used his private Ebay account to offer cameras and expensive navigation devices. "When I started noticing problems, I immediately asked Ebay to block the account. Nothing happened for three days," complains Klein, full article: http://service.spiegel.de/cache/internat...74,00.html Just as in the UK and USA, eBay Germany also blames its users. related topics: eBay Knew For 1 Yr.That Security Holes On Its Site Could Lead to Account Hijacks http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...668.0.html eBay faces up to online fraud: Admits Extreme Growth in Account Hijackings http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...754.0.html 308 times . . . http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...on=search2 |
