Google Sends Searchers to Jump Pages in Googlebase
Quote:Received an email alert from Classified Intelligence this weekend. Looks like GoogleBase is now delivering their users to jump pages from the results page instead of to the listing on the source site. This Google hosted/created jump page displays all the attribute information and it's striking how much this looks like a listing. full article: http://oodle.typepad.com/oodleblog/2005/..._in_g.html sample jump page: http://base.google.com/base/items?oid=58...3741836853 |

Re: Google Sends Searchers to Jump Pages in Googlebase
I thought those listing pages always existed...or did they just exist for people (like me) who didn't link their item to another site ?

I may have to GET with them.
My stuff is usually on page one For FREE. I'm on page THREE now. :blinkie: Dammit Google I WANT page one. Mine WILL NEVER go to You Know Who.

[/quote] Yup ... they existed, but they hadn't been displayed for me before since I was re-directing them. I kind of find this change to be interesting. It seems to put items on a more level playing field, among other possible things to come. |

Re: Google Sends Searchers to Jump Pages in Googlebase
I'm glad they stopped the automatic redirect. I think it was a necessary first step if they want to develop a classifieds venue.
