AdBrite Advertising
Pud from f.uckedcompany.com started his own advertising marketplace a few years ago.  You can sell space on your site and buy space on others.  I've used it to sell extra space.

Quote:Serving 331,489,151 daily pageviews on 9,725 sites

Quote:Like Ebay, many AdBrite users are both buyers and sellers (advertisers and publishers). That's why our homepage doesn't say "advertisers go here" and "publishers go there". There are, however, two distinct things you can do with AdBrite -- buy and sell ad space -- so we'll address them separately here.

If you're an advertiser, AdBrite provides great deals from all sorts of websites. Search or browse to find a site you want to advertise on. We'll show you relevant stats, including price and how many clicks you can expect. Add it to your cart, write your ad, and pay. If approved by the webmaster, your ad will appear on that site at the scheduled time.

If you're a publisher, use AdBriteto set your own ad rates, and approve or reject every ad that's purchased for your site. AdBriteenables you to instantly sell ads to your visitors via a "Your Ad Here" link, in addition to selling through AdBrite 's marketplace and sales team.

Our revenue split is 75/25 in your favor. Through a small snippet of HTML placed on your site, we handle serving, scheduling, billing, customer service, and sales. About half of AdBrite 's sales are generated from our marketplace and sales team, while the other half are generated from users clicking "Your Ad Here" on our publisher's sites.

While AdBrite can provide publishers with more revenue and better ads than traditional ad networks such as Google AdSense, we work fine along-side them as a simple way to generate additional ad revenue by selling ads directly to your visitors -- something the other ad systems don't do.

He's been updating it daily recently.  The Web 2.0 bubble will give him a lot of material when it pops.

"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

Pud-less AdBrite has these weird green underlined word ads.  F*ckedcompany is running them.  I'm trying to decide whether they would scare off visitors or not.

We're about to launch a bunch of new stuff. One of the first of these launches will be "Inline Ads". These are ads that appear within the text of your site. Certain words will be double-underlined, and when the user rolls their mouse over one of these words, a targeted ad will magically appear.

We'll be rolling this out in the next few weeks
