Whale dies during Thames rescue

LONDON, England (CNN) -- The whale that rescuers were taking out to sea from the Thames River in London took a turn for the worse and died Saturday, according to the London Port Authority.

The whale's upriver direction troubled experts, who said it was a possible indication the animal was sick, confused or both.
