A long, long time ago...

But July 19th made me shiver
With all the bad news Bill delivered.
Fee hikes at our doorstep;
We couldn’t take one more step.

I can’t remember if I hurled
When I read the price hikes Bill unfurled,
But something sickened me deep inside
The day the magic died.

So bye-bye, eBay's slice of the pie.
You drove my store to the ground,
And I wanted to cry.
Bill & Meg were laughing, drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Sayin', "this’ll be the day that they die.
"this’ll be the day that they die."

Do you have any idea what you've done?
You could just have easily used a gun,
Will Bill shoot if Meg tells him so?
Do you not believe in us anymore?l,
If you do, will you try to save our stores?
And can you teach us how to selll REAL slow?

We should have seen the clues,
Man, we've got the auction blues.

We're now lonely non-selling eBay bucks,

The shareholders took his thorny crown.
The web site was adjourned;
No money was returned.

Helter skelter in the August heat.
The sellers & buyers beat a hasty retreat,

He landed flat down on the grass.
The eBay pinks tried to save his ass,
With Meg on the sidelines, where her corporate jet had crashed.

Now the air was sweet with the smell of doom
While we listened to the Big Buffoon.
We all got up to leave,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
Then the Store Owners tried to take the field;
But, the knucklehead refused to yield.
Do you recall what he concealed
The day the magic died?

Nothing to do but start again.

And as I read his lies on eBays page
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No angel born in hell
Could break that satan’s spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
As he set our many stores alight

Landlords cried, and the children dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The auction site was broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
Cashed in their stock options,caught a train for the coast
