I think Glenda may have been hit in the head by her own pom poms.  Have you read the work around she is suggesting for BUYERS???
[/quote]

My comments abiut her suggestion from another post

Quote:The only problem is that 98% of buyers NEVER visit the message boards (many buyers in fact don't know the boards exist) and so they are going to be clueless about how to see gallery pictures when they are searching.

...and many, many buyers won't even look at a listing if there isn't a gallery pic (which is why regular ecommerce sites always provide gallery pics, and why auction sites like Y and O don't charge for gallery...it is a feature buyers want and it should be included in the listing fee not an extra charge if eBay is really serious about making its site "buyer friendly")

Has anyone else noticed how glenda replies to posts *exactly* like every single Pink on the boards does, starting off with

Hi member_tool_ID

Somebody has a VIP front-of-the-line pass to the  Smileykoolaid at the very least.  If not a Pink in disguise...

I'm pretty sure Glenda is.

yep.

If, as trey@ebay.com said, Voices members are picked by eBay's Community Development  Department (i.e. the department that oversees the message boards) then I think eBay needs to find a different method of picking people..especially when picking the Voices members it gets its buyer input from.

If eBay wants to find out want  buyers really want when they're shopping online it should use buyers who don't shop on eBay because they consider it a pain so it could learn and make changes that actually are buyer friendly.

I don't think choosing Voices members from the 2% or less of eBay users who are active message board participants is a good idea.  Its the same as building a web site and asking your family and friends  "How do you like my site?" In order to get really meaningful unbiased answers when building a site you really need to pick outsiders to be your guinea pigs.  eBay of course has yet to figure out this basic principle of site development, and so the end result is that the eBay site has become one of the most buyer unfriendly sites around.

I really like my idea.  Every x number of sales, invite the buyer and the seller to join Voices.    It's great way to get a good random mix of big and small sellers, casual and frequent buyers.

That would work too.  Maybe they could do that and also randomly invite some of the 100 millon plus inactive LIVING eBay users (especially former buyers) to provide input on why they no longer use eBay.

That's a really good idea, as well.    :-)    Go through and pull out one out of every x number of users who have made a purchase in the past but haven't made a purchase in the last 12 months.    If they don't respond to the email, NARU the account for invalid contact info and go on to the next one.  :-)
