Disney drops Ebay, opens its own auction site
Quote:February saw the launch of the new Disney Auction web site as Disney moved away from using eBay as their vendor and now have their own privately branded marketplace. The umbrella of DisneyShopping now includes the online Disney Store, Disney Outlet and Disney Auctions...

Stephanie Ayars in Disney Marketing mentioned that this move will enable them do more brand cross-promotions, as well as cross-link to other appropriate places...

...I've been buying Disney stuff online, at auctions and in stores for years and have always been very satisfied with the way they resolve problems. That's not always true with eBay and this move should separate them from any negatives that might have come from being associated with an outside vendor.

Thanks for the info.  It will make great reading on the Stores Board... especially today.
