Scores of Boston-area hookers are using a major Internet site popular with soccer moms, apartment seekers and job hunters to post hundreds of daily pornographic ads for unbridled sex romps that can be set up within minutes.

A two-week Herald investigation of free “erotic services” ads on the craigslist.org Web site uncovered prostitutes shacked up in hotels, operating from Spartan apartments rented by pimps or willing to meet for “car dates” in parking lots. Fees ranged from $50 to $250.

Three arrested after posting ads for sex on Craig's List

Three Portland women were arrested this week on prostitution charges after allegedly using Craig's List to solicit customers online.

The three women, Tyra Clisby, 20, Natsuko Kori, 24 and Shayleen Macy, 20, were taken into custody Wednesday at a Salem motel. Police had conducted an undercover operation after getting a tip the women were posting ads on http://www.craigslist.com for sex...

Police in Bucks County have charged 12 women after an investigation into prostitutes who allegedly have been advertising on the Web site Craigslist.

After police received a tip in August about alleged prostitutes advertising on the site, investigators called cell phone numbers in local listings that advertised "GFEs" — girlfriend experiences — asking for payment in "ro$" or "125 donations."...

Now a section on Craigslist called, "Erotic services," has police taking a second look and some women saying the ads are a front for prostitution.

Law enforcement in more than a dozen states, including Colorado, are now using Craigslist to set up prostitution stings.
