Dear Sellers

Listening to our Community – and making sure eBay delivers maximum value to you – is our job. An important part of our job is staying in touch with your changing business needs and developing innovative products that meet them. We would like to make some important announcements and fill you in on exciting new developments at eBay. Thanks to the continuing input and innovations of our Community, the eBay marketplace keeps evolving -- creating new opportunities for buyers and sellers alike.

2006 Feature Innovations

Images on Home Page featured Listing – We had constantly received feedback on this feature. We are pleased to announce that soon your Home Page Featured Listing will have an image of the product next to the listing. Click Here to see a mock up of the innovation.

Free Sales Report Plus – Sales Reports help you track your sales performance and get a better view of your selling activity and fees. We are making Sales Report Plus Free. This is currently charged at Rs.99 / month.

Both the above product changes will go live in the month of June 2006. We will give you more details about the change as we approach the launch date

2006 Feature Changes Applicable from 1st April’2006

We periodically review and make changes to our fee structure & are excited to inform you of some fee revisions. At the outset there are no changes in Final Value Fees, Seller Tools Subscription Fees apart from the Sales Report change as mentioned above and eBay Shops subscription fees.

We are extremely pleased to announce revised fees on the following features that will come into effect from 1st April’2006

Feature Plus will be charged at Rs.60 per listing. This will mean a reduction of 20% from earlier pricing of Rs.75 per listing. This is a very effective & popular feature with success rate of 20 times higher than a regular listing

Gallery Feature will be reduced by 33% & will be charged Rs.50 per listing as compared to Rs.75 per listing. An effective & heavily promoted feature whose returns are 15 times better than a regular listing.

Highlight will be charged 25% less at Rs.15 per listing from current fee of Rs. 20 per listing.

Gallery - This feature which displays a thumbnail image of your product next to the listing will be charged at 25 paise per listing from No fees as of today.

Listing Designer - This feature enhances the visual appeal & provides the right ambience to your listing will be charged 20 paise per listing from No Fees as of today.

All other Feature Fees for regular & store formats remain unchanged.

Confusedarcasm1:  Research has shown that most buyers prefer NOT to see eBay Stores gallery pictures in search results because buyers feel it wouldn't be fair to sellers who paid higher gallery fees.

Actually, I think that survey was conducted among folks who don't buy on eBay.  It found they'd be more likely to buy on eBay if store gallery pictures were not show because not showing store gallery pictures would maintain a level playing field.
