I haven't sold on eBay in a long while...
Used to be that PayPal didn't make it OBVIOUS to the buyer that it would take a while for payments to clear. I would always e-mail the buyer and thank them for their payment and then mention that PayPal won't allow me to ship until THEY say the check has cleared. I wrote it nicer than that, but I made SURE the buyer knew it was PayPal holding everything up. eBay and PayPal can fill an e-mail with how dangerous it is to buy outside of eBay and accept any kind of payment other than PayPal, but they can't make it obvious that an e-check will take X amount of days to clear. |
