Re: HM Revenue Targets UK eBay Traders
This part was interesting:

Quote:As for Ebay, more than 50,000 Britons now regularly buy and sell goods on auction websites, boosting their annual incomes by about £3,000 a year

...and just like its twisting of the number of US sellers who make their living on eBay, I'm sure that eBay UK's PR department is touting that 50,000 people make their living selling on eBay...even if that "making a living" amounts to only £3,000 a year.

Federal tax collectors in both Australia and the UK have now started to crack down on undeclared online income.  I wonder if the sellers in the UK who don't declare their income are still collecting VAT tax and just pocketing it since I know on some UK auction sites it is mandatory that all sellers collect VAT?
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site.
best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011
