MovieBandits: Former Blockbuster Exec Launches First Online DVD Trading Service
Quote:Dave Perkovich, formerly Blockbuster's Vice President of Online Subscription Services, announced to today the launch of MovieBandits.com -- a new site dedicated to trading new and used DVDs. Having helped Blockbuster launch their online rental service, which competes with companies like Netflix.com , Mr. Perkovich is intimately familiar with the online DVD space. "Everyone knows about renting DVDs online and getting them in the mail. But people still like to own their own copies. As a result, there is an enormous amount of unwatched DVDs in people's homes. Now, you can make use of those titles by trading with us for new titles."

With over 250,000 DVDs in their McKinney, Texas warehouse, MovieBandits.com offers its customers' direct "business to consumer" trading. This is in sharp contrast to "peer-based" trading services.
