Google Base Traffic Growth Flattens
Article examines where Google Base searchers visit after Base, and provides Google Base traffic graphs showing a flattening of growth
Quote:By examining Hitwise Clickstream data by industry, we can see which categories of sites people are visiting after Google Base, thus getting an indication of what kind of content is being searched for on the site. For the month of March, Shopping & Classifieds was the largest downstream category, with Rewards & Directories site Shop.com accounting for 5.1% of downstream traffic from Google Base. So yes, it looks like people are interested in shopping when they go to Google Base... full article: http://weblogs.hitwise.com/leeann-presco..._it_1.html Quote:The number of visitors to Google Base, Google's online classifieds marketplace, has already started to level off just a few months since the feature was introduced, says an Internet traffic monitoring concern. full article: http://googlewatch.eweek.com/blogs/googl.../8824.aspx

Re: Google Base Traffic Growth Flattens

Froogle 6th most visited Google subdomain, Google Base fails to make the top 20
A related article. A listing of the top 20 Google subdomains shows Search still accounts for 80% of Google's traffic. Froogle is the 6th most visited Google subdomain, accounting for 0.46% of Google's traffic, but Google Base fails to make the top 20.
Quote:As has been the case since we started reporting on Google in 2003, Google Images remains the most popular subdomain past the main Google URL. Interestingly, some of the latest Google offerings have yet to capture significant market share in their category... full article and chart of the 20 most visited Google subdomains: http://weblogs.hitwise.com/bill-tancer/2...andin.html |
