Q about AllMusicSearch Blogs!
I would like to host my blog but also change the colors to match the site.
Is there a "blank" template I can use instead of having to modify an existing template? I tried blogger.com, I chose a layout but when I tried to change the background image on the top (behind MrO title) I get a "restricted stuff" login prompt. Not sure if anyone else sees the prompt though. http://www.misteroriginal.net/blog Then I tried wordpress, but it's too time consuming trying to modify the existing template in the db. Am I being picky? |

Re: Q about AllMusicSearch Blogs!
The AllMusicSearch Blog templates aren't editable by users. Each template set is made up of about 20-25 different smaller templates...and all the templates are php...so it would have led to a lot of problems if we let people edit them because the templates contain a lot of the code necessary for some of the features to work.
You could try installing something like b2eVolution.net on your site. It is fairly easy to edit the templates on it (each template set is made up of only about 6 templates). Serendipity (http://www.s9y.org/ ) also has fairly easy to modify templates.

Re: Q about AllMusicSearch Blogs!
There's a thing known as 'Smarty' which allows the programmer to separate the code for the various languages so it can be edited without one part overy impacting the other. In other words, you can write HTML code as one file, CSS as another, PHP as another, etc., and have Smarty put the pieces together.
