Following Amazon's Lead, eBay Moves into TV Production with ABC Reality TV Show
Quote:eBay Makes Bid For Reality TV, Prime-Time Show Will Air On ABC

INTERNET AUCTION GIANT EBAY IS entering television production as a partner in a new ABC reality show where its brand will play a central role. The show, with the working title "Make It Happen," will focus on families who have inspiring dreams but lack the financial means to make them happen. The families will be given the chance to place their "hidden treasures"--collectibles, memorabilia, artifacts, and other items--up for bid on eBay, where the proceeds will turn their dreams into reality...

Puke Puke Puke Puke I'm not interested in watching a twice weekly 60-minute commercial masquerading as an actual TV program Puke Puke Puke Puke Puke Puke I know, maybe they can sell the commercial spots to get rich on ebay infomercials! Puke Puke Puke Puke Puke

Quote: The deal is the latest example of an emerging trend in which advertisers play a role in entertainment production as a way to integrate brands into the content with a favorable spin.

It makes me Puke anytime any company does it. Smile

Now I know why I haven't watched any network TV in years...
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site.
best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011

Can you imagine what it'd be like watching trying to watch an ebay produced TV show? Laughing7

Dialing the Channel: *Error. Page TV Program Not Found*
Still trying to find the program: *Sorry, TV Listing Invalid. Not A Registered Utility*
Change of scene: Switches to a different channel, different program
Trying to get back to program: *We're Sorry. This store Show Has Been Closed*
Banner Ad: It's not safe to watch any programs other than those sponsored by eBay...
Public Reply to the Press: *It's the viewer's fault. We've repeatedly told them to clear their caches and toss their cookies.....*

eBay ABC Reality TV Show "Buy It Now" to air twice weekly
The eBay reality TV show "Buy It Now" will air twice weekly this summer. :Smile

Quote:The show will center around different families who put a variety of their prized possessions on eBay in the hopes of raising the proceeds to have some meaningful goal realized. “Buy It Now” will air twice a week. The first episode will introduce the family, their friends and neighbors and anyone else who might be participating in the project. The second episode will show the progress of the auctions and of course, the results.
