Hello Everyone - Well, I did it. Removed all 750 listings from my store (did most of them within the past two days.) I paid my final bill. Posted on the farewell board and emailed Karen to close my store. Sales have plummeted for me. Not even any lookers. Quite sad. My store name on WP was A-Beautiful-Secret and my username was TheAtticOfPatti. So I am here now outing myself. I am still waiting for a reply on the closing of my store.... Unique - a.k.a. ~Patti~ [/quote] PATTI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad I know who you are now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay Patti!!! Good luck with your new venue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Patti and everybody else new here.
Like here, I was Designers Bargains on WP. Since I'm one of those dark individuals who takes nothing for granted, I made the mistake of starting to ask questions back in August, which turned out to be a capital offense. You'd be surprised at how fast a community that others call so "helpful and supportive" can turn on you, when you dare to challenge their reality (or lack of). I'm working on getting my eCrater store together, as well. Won't be open for business until I have listed about 200 items, so I have some more to go, but hope everybody will pay me a visit. I don't hide behind a sock puppet. I'm Designers Bargains wherever I go. Funny, I Googled my actual name yesterday, and over 123 matches came up. I even found a skin care article I'd written for a company I used to work for turn up as the featured article for a totally different (on-line) skin care company I'd never heard of. And, of course, all the posts I'd written about WP for Blogging Stocks showed up. In fact, I found more matches to my own name than to WP. I remember you from WP, Patti, and wish you success. Sorry you had to waste so much time and energy feeding the WP dead horse. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hi eclectica and DB -
Thanks for the welcomes. DB - I don't see it as a waste of time. I was one of those sellers that actually made money on WP for awhile. Then came the "Grand Opening". That's when sales took a nosedive for me. I promised myself that I would stay until sales dried up. Well they did. I remember some of your posts. I was a big cheerleader still back then, but I wasn't the type that put the sellers down for asking questions. Sorry you had to experience that. That was around the same time I started backing away from the boards. I can't blame the sellers for trying everything in their powers to make sales at a site that isn't helping them. All they want to do is make sales. And there is no harm in that. But when you start downing people because their ideas don't match up to yours, then that's just plain wrong. Sellers need to learn when a site is either working for them or not working for them. And to stop blaming other sellers. I can tell you this much ... If I wasn't making any sales at WP I would have left within the first 3 months. These people are brave in deciding to stay at WP. I'm no longer that brave (green speaks to me - bills don't lol). Well, enough for now ... Time to list while the kids are taking naps.... ~Patti~ |

Hi Patti! Congrats on the move. I hope ecrater works well for you. I have been doing quite well there, IMO best alternative to ebay right now except for having your own website. That is what I am trying to work on now. Best wishes to you and your new store!

I've sold 4 things from ecrater so far - two have paid and two haven't Hopefully in the next week or so I will have over 300 items in my eCrater store. At least that is my goal. That's about 30 items a day. I'm hoping my girls will let me (2 1/2 and almost 1). I still plan on selling on eBay - only things I know that will sell. Need to really clear out my Store Room so I can have my DH go in and give me more shelving. ~Patti~ |
