lol Princess I was still drinking to a certain extent too. I was on my way to being weaned off. I was at a point when I was really starting to question WP's business practices.  So don't worry I think a few us here were. 

Sweet your doing a great job but actually that was not my first post on TT but it's close.  When I first posted here it was not for the purpose of cheering for or talking against WP but rather to address a different subject which to some extent had to do with WP.  At that point in time I did not feel like cheering for them anymore and had a feeling my time there was coming to an end.  I realized that a lot of what was being said here was the truth and could not be argued with along with seeing for myself what was going on at WP.

After I quit spamming eBay boards with WP hurrahs, I started lurking.. and learning. a lot.  by the way I apparently am stupid and misquoted that 3-year-goal should be 1-year-goal which WP has already surpassed.  No matter.  Regardless, I have begun to like lurking, but occasionally I'll jump in and surprise people.

I was around FAS the last time, but didn't have a chance to open up at WP before the site fell.  Now this impersonation of Karen that you speak of.. why and how would he do this and have time to do everything else and what makes you think it's him?

I'm asking seriously, because I want to know.

About WPSSU - Brian was a hardcore supporter of WP for a long time. He opened his own forums so everyone could go and talk freely about whatever subject since WP was deleting posts.  :-\

Well, Brian started banning members because they decided to talk about a subject that apparently Brian did not like because it questioned the advertising WP was saying they were going to start.  And now Brian has nothing nice to say about WP at all. Then when he opened his forums to all sellers, he went in and deleted threads that concerned that subject and anything that referred to this board (and you should have read some of the things he was posting about you guys :-[). 

Now Brian is going to open his own auctionsite. Who's to say it won't turn out exactly like WP at this point (with the deleted posts and such)?

I'm not here to defend anything, just to "open people's eyes" as people have been on this thread. I've been around WP and the WPSSU boards when all of this started. Basically sitting on the side lines watching all the fun and frolic.

Quite some time ago eBay banned me indefinately from their Discussion Boards just for including the word "waggly" in a post.  EBay is scared of Wagglepop. lol

That Popper has made near $600. in recent sales (only counting WP sales, not other income sources).  Two house payments could not have been made without those WP sales.  Some might call that a victory especially considering that her store isn't even nearly finished yet due to major health problems and other life challenges.

This would be me. I never had a store on WP. I realized early on something was very weird. Yes it is true you can be too happy, and the sellers who spoke out in dissent were squashed. I found out about TT from a former seller on WP. It was this thread that prevented me from even a minute more of contemplation as to whether or not to do business on WP. It is for this reason that I have referred others to your forum. It has value and merit because it supplies a chronological history of Ray Romeo, and enough factual information to convince potential sellers from making a grave mistake. So thank you to all who have contributed your insight and humor to this thread.

Morning All!

As a soon-to-be ex-koolaid drinker, I have a question for you folks that have been around this block a few times.  I know there's a million auction sites out there, many of them doing quite poorly with no traffic, some better than others, some of them charge, some of them don't, some of them advertise, some of them have virtually no advertising budget....very few of them seem to have the highly charged emotional impact that WP has had - neg. & pos.... (that I'm aware of).

Initially, WP seemed to be one of the auction sites that could be quite successful; it had numerous ebay refugee sellers, a similar set-up to ebay and lots of hype. Myself and many other sellers spent months & months promoting & promoting, only to find it extremely difficult to lure our customers over to buy there, or to get new traffic onto the site. I can tell you from my own perspective that getting even my regular customers to make purchases there was like pulling teeth without the novocaine, not sure why.  WP ballooned up to over 900 stores, only to dwindle back down to barely over 200. 

This is my question: What do you think is the one biggest contributing factor to the gradual decline of wagglepop?...is it Ray's treatment of sellers? is it bad karma from the first failed go-round? poor public perception of the site? lack of advertising? ebay being the place to buy? the efforts of nay-sayers? something else??? Just curious as to what people think
