RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
The similarities between Wagglepop's marketing methods and cult tactics became apparent within the first month after its reopening.

Quote:cult-like swap meet There you go. And the similarities aren't just similarities. They're dead-on, whether he's aware of it or not. WP is most certainly a cult. Usually businesses don't become cults, because there's no sense of spiritual satisfaction. The "believer" aspect of WP (believe in the cause) is where it differs from businesses like Amazon, eBay, Overstock, etc. Not only is WP believed to be a viable venue, the members / followers believe it is a symbolic stand against eBay. They have the promise of a perceived "afterlife" fueling their group.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Sorry, but I couldn't resist passing on this big WP bunny bullet.
As you know, WP does not tolerate spam of any kind. For Pope Ray/Priestess Karen and the disciples, this rule is suspended. Consider the following that one FORMER (not even current, so how he got her email address is suspect) member just received unsolicited: Hello. I don't usually do this, but I am asking you all for a favor. If you like my photography, please click on the following link to vote for me as having the best Photography/Art on MySpace. You do not need to have an account to vote, and there is no registration involved. Just click on the link and vote. If you are really bored, you can vote every hour. If you really want to get in my good graces, send this to all your friends and have them do it too. Kayla and Ashley, it's time to pay me back for all those cool X-Mas presents. Start a grass roots campaign at both of your colleges and get everyone to vote and vote often. The contest lasts until October 31st. I figure I need about 3500 votes to win, so lets get busy. Thanks in advance...now get to it. http://scottbulgerphotography.myspaceprofileawards.com/ Kumbaya... Scott Bulger Curious to note, that Mr. Kumbaya bashed this member repeatedly (as he did me -- he's the one that atttacked my business ethics and called me a cheat and a liar) on the WP boards and now he is asking for her vote as the best Photographer on My Space. Maybe somebody here can explain to me how cojones can grow to such immense proportions. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT CLICK ON SCOTT'S LINK! |
