OK, direct me to the correct thread, please. I'm ignorant, not stupid, and willing to learn. The site is still only about a week old for me, remember.
Thanks.

nothing negative in my last post .....
yet it was pulled for bringing up the other post?

blackpearl, I wasn't meaning rudeness by you, but by the other party. I didn't see your post. Just trying to explain why it might hav happened if the other party you mentioned was involved. Sorry.

I know it wasnt aimed at me , and i dont get involved in any drama no matter where it is ......I just posted to express my opinion on the ops thread ....but wasnt given the chance and did not violate a policy.

Quote:MY LAST EMAIL TO CUSTOMER SUPPORT THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY EXSPECT THE TOTAL NUMBER OF STORES TO FALL BACK TO 700 BEFORE IT STARTS TO GO BACK UP AGAIN. SINCE THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER THEY HAVE LOST MORE THAN 50 STORES YOU CAN CHECK FOR YOURSELF IF YOU WANT. THAT IS NOT GOOD WITH THE HOLIDAYS COMING FAST!!! MY SITE IS JUST ONE THAT YOU CAN GO TO TO GAIN TRAFFIC WITH ADVERTISING. I AM NOT SAYING I AM THE BEST OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT BUT YOU NEED TO PAY FOR ADVERTISING IF YOU WANT ANY REAL RESULTS.

So let's tell everyone that we have peaked in the number of stores we have and we will lose over 200 from our high point....interesting tidbits you find in the middle of threads on WP....buried so Ray/Karen doesn't ~edit~ them!
Good bye all

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
http://www.wagglepop.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=3777

Highlights from the thread:
Quote:As we announced earlier this month, expect the Stores counts to fluctuate downward a bit as we begin the process account-by-account reviews to determine which accounts are in good standing vs. accounts to be referred to collection.

Additionally, some members are more familiar with and more comfortable with a high-traffic environment such as eBay, for example, and we expect a slight attrition rate due to that as well.

Our expectation is a natural leveling out at about the 700 level or so, which is still ahead of our original intermediate target of 700 Stores by June of 2007.

We're not interested in a rapid increase in the Stores count insomuch as we are interested in attracting and keeping good and honest sellers for the long-term, and building a marketplace that buyers are naturally attracted to.

It's the sellers that do understand the opportunity that our SmartSell Pro environment offers that are going to be with us for the long-term, and benefit from all that we have planned in that regard Smile

Karen - WP Customer Care

Thank you Karen for your support!

Quote:Number of stores is irrelevant and a red herring. The important numbers are listings (up) visitors (up) page views (up) and sales (up).

Concentrating on a extraneous, garbage, immaterial, impertinent, inapplicable, inapposite, inappropriate, inapropos, inapt, inconsequent, inconsequential, insignificant, not germane, pointless, trivial, unapt, unconnected, unimportant, unrelated, number like total stores is a waste of time.

You are such an Ass Scott!!

Quote:Karen

Thankyou for the above responce. I believe you to be a good and honest person that deals with alot everyday. However I disagree with some things that were stated. Accounts that are not in good standing is one thing. What about the accounts that close due to lack of buyers. You can go through all the community boards and find people wanting to close there stores. I have seen them and anyone can if they look. Falling back to 700 would be fine if wagglepop would increase the buyer/seller ratio. Right now I am a seller which is only a buyer at this point, check my feedback. With the loss of these sellers which I can assume are potential buyers as everyone registered on wagglepop is, how can wagglepop continue to promote it's smart sell pro when most people are forking out $9.95 a month for a (don't get me wrong) good place to list inventory with little or no return. The vast majority is basically paying for storage on wagglepop.

I am sorry but as far as I am concerned a projection of a loss in sellers of about 17% is a failure to all wagglepop sellers.

There needs to be an incentive for buyers to switch to wagglepop. Product price is the incentive and we average I would say 10% - 15% less cost to buyers here than there BUT we need the potential buyers to see that.

WE NEED WAGGLEPOP TO ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE & ADVERTISE IN THE RIGHT PLACES!!! AS WELL AS ALL WAGGLEPOP SELLERS SHOULD AS WELL.

I am sorry but a loss is a failure any way you look at it. The vast majority of wagglepop sellers are facing losses month after month. Do you expect sellers to stay based on failure? If the #'s projected for 6/07 have already been reached shouldn't they be revaluated to grow wagglepop as the market demands?

Quote:At $9.95 per month, we'd submit that there's no other opportunity online (or offline) that offers such an incredible upside, with the risk of just $9.95 per month.

The single greatest attribute any retailer can have is the ability to recognize and act upon opportunity, particularly when the risk vs. reward ratio is so strikingly affordable.

Quote:Karen,
Why are advertising plans and marketing being kept such a big secret?

Every business has a marketing plan and to put it simply it means they will advertise and utilize print, internet or other media venues.

I really can't figure out the secrecy involved with the advertising and media requests for information.

You should be tooting your horn, not hiding behind a wall.

Just to add some fun to the mix, tee hee

Translation: "We fully expect folks to get pissed and close their stores because they have no sales, no traffic and we're doing nothing to bring them buyers. Probably the number of stores will drop by a couple hundred over the all-important holiday season, but don't worry, it'll pick up again after the New Year when eBay cranks up the fees and sellers panick, jump ship and off we go on another eBay, ex-patriot recruiting spree."
