Quote:Number of stores is irrelevant and a red herring. The important numbers are listings (up) visitors (up) page views (up) and sales (up).

Concentrating on a extraneous, garbage, immaterial, impertinent, inapplicable, inapposite, inappropriate, inapropos, inapt, inconsequent, inconsequential, insignificant, not germane, pointless, trivial, unapt, unconnected, unimportant, unrelated, number like total stores is a waste of time.

[/quote]

Scott's absolutely right:

Number of listings up: hey, everybody let's list about 3,000 more sports cards and magazines -- woohoo!
Number of views up: hey, everybody, let's look at each other's sports card and magazines -- woohoo!
Number of sales up: hey, everybody let's trade a bunch of sports cards and magazines, or at least say we did to pump up the sales numbers -- woohoo!

Scott used a lot of big "in" words and "un" words -- woohoo! The ones he missed were the ones of self-description -- INSANE and UNDENIABLY detached from reality.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:For those who get discouraged (and believe me, I'm not above discouragement and bad days!!!), think of your WP store as your own website/domain! That's pretty much what it is!

Stop thinking in terms of paying WP a small monthly fee for nothing! Try to get easy set up, easy revisions, method to invoice and pay, site design, maintenance, web domain name and hosting for that little elsewhere - I seriously do not think it can be done! I pay that much per month just for hosting alone with my regular business site - and that includes nothing, just the space to load my pages onto.

I know this is out of the 'community as a whole' type of thinking, but try to see your WP store as YOURS - not just as you paying WP to list and promote your store as part of their (WP's) business.

It's WP's business to HOST OUR BUSINESSES and they provide us some really nifty tools to help us all set up and 'decorate' our store, they keep track of our inventory for us, provide a 'shopping cart', they provide us the use of WP as a community to help buyers feel a bit safer when shopping on the net.

For the 9.95 per month hosting fee, WP goes above and beyond what any other 'hosting company' would offer us.

Did I miss something? A shopping cart? Your store?  :Smile

We just closed our store here is a copy of our last post on the Advance Sellers Stores board.

We were going to just slip into the night but we had to say thanks for the interesting journey in e-commerce.
We will be watching in anticipation as the "staff" is finally revealed in a couple of months.
Happy Sales! Happy001

It took about 2 minutes to get pulled....Looks like the Staff is paying attention to the posts, at least.. Violent1

CASH! WHERE'S THE FAREWELL -- I'M DYING TO SEE IT!

I was sent this by email a moment ago, since I can't get into the boards any more:

From another seller:

"Advertising has been said over and over again and the reasons for the lack
thereof, thus far. Ok that was too wordy. Here's some English for ya: A revolution is change, duh. Look at all the changes here from eBay.
I know I'm being incredibly rude but this is so getting ridiculous. I was
upset too until I read and researched and listened.. THEN I realized what we
have that's so good. And I like Wagglepop's unspoken motto (purely my
opinion) of "weeding out the bad sellers".

And then to come in here, ranting and raving, and talking about a pissing
contest. Do some research before you come in pissing and moaning.

AND I can say the above because I did it - I was pissing and moaning too,
hopefully never to such volatile means as some other posters have, but then
I got smart, read up, and SHUT UP.
until now. cuz this is aggravating. Wagglepop doesn't owe you anything
except a venue - that's what they are - a venue! Read through the entirety
of WP and you will see exactly what the Revolution is.
And find something productive to do other than complain. Sheesh.
**this was directed at the whole attitude from any/all sellers about
advertising and what Wagglepop OWES us, it is no way directed at any one
specific person**

peace,

Hey, mommy Karen, where are you? What happened to the policy of "personal responsibility, courtesy, constructive comments and respect" and the rest of that self-ritious, pious, bunny boinkbullet hypocritical Swiss cheese rhetoric!

Good catch. They filed for the last 2 on June 14th?  I'm shocked it took their lawyers so many years to understand that trademarking "buyitnow" but not "buy it now" created a loophole.  Laughing7

You forced me to search for it.  Tongue The post was by PrincessM  who joined us briefly on pages 44,45,46 of this thread and didn't get the friendliest reception because she had been one of the most prolific WP board spammers.
