Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
If I were a WP seller, this would scare the hell out of me (highlighted in BOLD)
Wagglepop Alexa traffic: Philippines 3.1% Hong Kong 2.3% Egypt 2.3% India 2.3% Jordan1.5% Romania1.5% Thailand1.5% Mexico0.8% Vietnam0.8% China0.8% Costa Rica0.8% Serbia and Montenegro0.8% Greece0.8% Indonesia0.8% Iran0.8% Malaysia0.8% Norway0.8% Pakistan0.8% Puerto Rico0.8% Qatar0.8% Other countries6.9% Near 1/3 of the traffic to the site now comes from countries notorious for fraud, counterfeits, or terrorism, according to Alexa. Even more scary is what "Other Countries" make up 6.9%! Let's check out the traffic ranks by country: Hong Kong 49,310 Jordan 49,430 United States 65,603 A counterfeit king, and a terrorist/fraud state have Wagglepop in a higher rank than the U.S. rank. Romania 166,147 Egypt 88,437 Pakistan 162,294 2 countries overrun by terrorists, and the biggest fraudulent nation known online today rank higher than Wagglepop's total Alexa rank of 237,742. What on earth is Ray really up to? I checked other RScript sites, and none seem to have nearly the same amount of traffic from these countries. Not even the dead Ewaey had many problems with visitors from these countries. So, this isn't a group of RScript hackers. It is, plain and simple, something really fishy going on. I wouldn't doubt one bit if this has something to do with it... From WhoIs: Registrar: DOTSTER Domain Name: WAGGLEPOP.COM Created on: 21-NOV-04 Expires on: 21-NOV-11 Last Updated on: 23-MAY-07 If it expires in 2011, why make a domain update on 5/23/2007??? Isn't that just a week after the year anniversary of the site? Could Ray have built the site, sold it undercover since it is a private registry, and someone else really be running it? That may be why the domain registry was updated on 5/23. Perhaps that was the day someone else took over the site, and it was transferred into their ownership. After all, that's about the time all the posts from Ray vanished, all the boards and site stats disappeared, it headed in a new direction, and Ray bought a classic muscle car on eBay. 5/23 also wasn't long before "KaRay" left the building. That is also about a month before Ray started listing in high volume on eBay again. I also remember that's one of the (many) reasons I left, is that they started getting a lot of traffic from countries that had never been part of Wagglepop's audience around June-July. It would make sense that once the stores dropped below 200, that Ray saw it as a loss to keep the site himself only bringing in a couple thousand bucks a month, but saw a clear immediate gain to finance his rebirth on eBay if he sold the site. Don't all the pieces seem to add up to those few remaining loyal cheerleaders? Sorry folks, but my old Wagglepop email address on AOL is still getting spam emails, and I never used it for anything but Wagglepop in the last 5 years. It just sat there dormant, only the occasional AOL email trying to sell me a new service. Then, once registered on Wagglepop for a few months, the spam started to come, and come, and still continues today... 5 months after leaving. Anyone who stays with Wagglepop after reading this, as well as every other post in this thread, deserves what is coming to them. If they won't open their eyes and see the scam behind the site, no one can help you.

Quote:Could Ray have built the site, sold it undercover since it is a private registry, and someone else really be running it? I refer to my previous post of November 12, 2007 Quote:Could it be that our friend PS is actually Ray's auto-hamster -- that, in fact, his royal boinktardedness actually passed part or all interest of the faltering WP torch to little miss baby blanket upon the debaucle of the great Grand Re-ReOpening in March? Consider the following: Quote:Truth, Dec 17, 2007 Quote:PS's reply: December 17, 2006 AND Quote:PS - December 17, 2006bolding mine Yes, XPopper, I too have pondered the "coincidences" you have listed. Now, further consider: PS shows virtually NO evidence of sales (1 in the past TWO MONTHS, as opposed to 30 purchases from OTHER WP store owners). Despite this abysmal sales record, she continues to hop from forum to forum like a jackrabbit with a firecracker up its rear, with some divine calling to extole the "virtues" of WP to all -- bragging about glorious "sales" record, the great traffic (much of which comes from countries not open to buyers on WP - but who cares, 'cause it fudges Alexa), ease of listing, wonderful buying experience, yada, yada, yada. She claims buyers don't leave feedback, yet on her WP board posts she literally BEGS for feedback and holds penny auctions for the express purpose of pumping it up. And then she blames all the bad press on a hand-full of disgruntled XPoppers who (according to her) have nothing better to do than spread nasty lies and discredit the piss-poor site simply because they are spiteful, ignorant low-lifes. Now, since PS doesn't make jack from her WP store, what would be her motivation for continuing this blind crusade? To "witness" before e-sellers on infinite forums? To bring the innocent lambs to slaughter? What's REALLY in it for her? If she gets no help from the "govenment" (as she claims), and she barely works (as she also claims) who's paying the bills? Think about it. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hmm... stores dropped 11, and now the site's SQL server cannot connect? Shades of Ewaey?
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Too many connections in /www/waggle/public_html/community/db/mysql4.php on line 48 Warning: mysql_error(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /www/waggle/public_html/community/db/mysql4.php on line 330 Warning: mysql_errno(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /www/waggle/public_html/community/db/mysql4.php on line 331 phpBB : Critical Error Could not connect to the database " and "Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, admin@wagglepop.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." Maybe Ray is ready to call it quits? After all, how much cash could the site really produce with only 124 stores? About $1500? Then pay for the server, and you only have about $1000 left. The screen keeps bouncing from the "Error" and SQL messages to a blank WP screen, with the header in tact, stating "Page not found. Check your URL and try again" in the content area of each page. Did anyone get an email from Ray tonight?

Reposting my post from an earlier all-night outage.
Same problem as the other 7 (?) all-night outages this year MySQL is down. If Ray used a monitoring service the downtime would have been limited to a few minutes. For the newbies: Ray wakes up around 7 am ET - a few minutes after that he will notice the site is down and restart MySQL. Wagglepop will be operational again by 8 am ET.
|
