What other e-commerce venue requires full registration and membership status (providing personal information) simply to VIEW posts in the forum?

HiBidder - the site owned by a used car salesman with an unfavorable Better Business Bureau rating - the site whose moderators brag about going to the eBay boards and reporting posts of other sellers.

With so many of these fly-by-night, phony-balloney e-commerce sites spinnng webs in cyber-space ready to snatch shell-shocked sellers as they're jetisened from eBay's orbit, are there any that are upfront and legit? Any where there's honest, serious business to be had? Any where buyers and sellers are not just used as a way to line some bogus henchman's pocket? Don't tell me to start my own site -- after much deliberation, I've decided I'm not prepared to do that quite yet.

As noted above, I think your perception is skewed on a comparative basis, with the likely comparative being eBay.

eBay is an established multi-billion dollar international corporation, and in fact, one of the most powerful companies in the world.

We are a small, privately owned and funded private enterprise, with stated aspirations to operate in the general area of "second" to that, however that level is defined.

Exclusive of that comparison, our success to date has been remarkble, and unexpected this quickly.

All businesses face obstacles and "dropped" opportunities; re-launches, product redesigns, reworking of basic platforms and ideas. That's a part of being in business. As the saying goes, if you don't want to make mistakes, and make mistakes publicly, don't open a public business.

Being able to weather your mistakes and to fix them "out in the open" is a part of the dedication and courage all businesses that succeed must have.

In addition, as an independent business owner considering Wagglepop, you've got to make the decision for yourself about how you define progress and success.

The vast majority of closed accounts had no current inventory, and the ones that did typically had just one or two items.

I can't believe that - he actually closed people's accounts for having only one or two items?  That is just amazing.  That incredibly stupid. I can't believe that.

Reading several posts in this thread the comments he/Karen posts on WP and the comments his faithful cheerleaders make it reminds me of one thing - it's like a cult.  A cult has some idiot controlling his followers with stupid ideas and no matter what the cult leader says his followers praise him on a high pedestal following him every step of the way kissing his feet and the ground he walks on along the way.  That is what WP and Ray/Karen has there - cult.
