RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hey...BBH....I ran thru WP a while back....and there is nothing on the site that even remotely resembles RScript. ( Quty, BNS, TAM and a few others run on it and it's pretty much set up the same on all of those...but WP doesn't even hold a candle to them.) Is this a new version or a really old and lame one. ( Thinking the latter! LOL)
maybe he's got a Frankenstein going on...pieces of this and that sewn together. And all it can do is grunt and fart on a regular basis?!?! |

Alskling, HiBidder is on the PHPpro platform, it's been publicly discussed and confirmed by owner, members and their previous programmer, Suzanne, owner of PlunderHere.
Thanks for the clarification, BBH! Like UBC BD, after poking around the site, I couldn't convince myself that it's RScript. Didn't believe it was PHPpro, either. I wonder what brainiac came up with the idea of throwing away the BL that works w/ RScript in favor of spending an additional $500.00 for a snap on? Prepare yourself for sheer horror! Just in time for Halloween, it's... WAGGLESTEIN! :popcorneaters: |

[/quote] He did a good job customizing the templates and layout. BNS and TAM look like they're the work of amateurs with limited web skills. The advanced search page is one of the few WP pages that still resembles the default layout. The one thing Ray couldn't change in his effort cover up his rScript underbelly was the path names/search strings etc. See below Code: http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/eStores?cmd=search_stores Every function path on WP is the same as the other thousand sites using the script. |

Eww...Rho...now THAT'S scary!!!
I went back and did some comparisons while I had a little time on my hands (HA!) and yeh...it's RScript but I think he added some of the Rainworx stuff to it too. FRANKENWEINIE lives!!! So do we storm the castle and kill the monster or let it die in a raging inferno?? ( I see a movie and a couple of sequels!) |

I don't know anything about that script gobbledegook, but the general feeling I get from reading the posts of those "in the know" is that what Ray is doing is rather akin to a couple kids setting up a Koolaid stand with a couple of mom's old plastic folding chairs, a card table they retrieved from the trash and a shower curtain table cloth. Along comes a gust of wind (hacker) and POOOF

Quote:Seller accounts which have gone into delinquency status (especially those sellers with no inventory that appear abandoned) and sellers who are unresponsive to direct emails from staff regarding their accounts are in the process of account termination. Coming in late here, but this is ridiculous. He's not just cruising for non-paying subscribers--he's scanning to see who's only got one or two items???? WTF? There have been times on eBay when all I had ON was one item. Not even eBay canned me for that (and in many cases the item ended up selling for more than many items combined). Not plugging for eBay here, just amazed at his audacity. Is it somewhere in the TOS--a minimum item number requirement? Are they going to add it? How can they can stores for that reason if it's not in the TOS?

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:One thing that bothered me about the cult of WP soon after I joined and bothers me even more now is the arbitrary, unequal, capricous enforcement of the rules and they ways in which they can be manipulated by the cult leaders as it suits their desires and objectives -- Cults are dictatorships. There is no vote, no surveys taken, no polls or opinions solicited, and no options. The leaders make proclamations and the members either abide or risk excommunication, the risk being inversely proportional to the financial and/or image benefit of the leaders. The recent "termination of account" policy being a case in point. Nowhere in the TOS that I can recall, were the terms for termination due to delinquency specified or even mentioned, except in some vague terms of "trust". This arbitrary, capricious "TBA" philosophy leaves members guessing as to where they stand and what "surprises" (good or bad) lye ahead. What is the current criteria for account closure? It appears to be stores with delinquent accounts that have little or no inventory. Again, unequal enforcement. A delinquent account is a delinquent account, whether the account has a store with no items or 1000 items. Yet, stores with high inventory counts are being allowed to "pass" to keep the listing tote board up. I would even go so far as to say some of these stores with very high inventories may be given a free ride because the benefits to the image of the cult outweighs the individual loss in income to Ray/Karen but benefits in collective income by giving credence to the argument that WP is "growing". It's despotism for sure.

Same can be said of how eBay has operated over the years IMO
