RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
From my previous post:

Are you guys ready for a good chuckle? Check out the no. 13 WP store -- over 1300 items and only 1 FB from another store seller. Look at item 241162 and be sure to click on the photo on the listing. Don't stop there -- see where it leads and play it through. I don't know how "courteous, respectful, constructive" Ray let this one through and canned another guy's listing because he was selling a book that had the word "Jerk" as part of the title, but I'll let you think about it.

Do it quick, the auction ends in a couple hours!

FYI: You don't have to register at WP to view auctions, only to bid, buy or view and post on the forums.

So, for those of you who missed this auction: The title was something like "Wipe your ass with Sadam", and it listed a roll of toilet paper with Sadam's face printed on it. There was an looped animation of a  Bush beating Sadam over the head with a big mallet repeatedly and lots of God Bless America propaganda with flags, etc. If you click on the toilet paper, a humongous fart sound appears along with a gigantic "plop" and you get linked to a completed auction for the same item on eBay. The next thing you hear is the full-length version of "I Bought it on eBay" song -- you know, the spoof of the Back Street Boys song.

It is interesting what Ray does and does not allow on WP. This listing passed the censors, when a listing of a children's book and a cook book were pulled because the Rooster says Cockadoodledoo, and the cook book gave a receipe for beek jerky. Also, I recall a seller having to pull all her listings for political bumper stickers.
FYI: I was terminated and NEVER, EVER, NOT ONCE did I use a swear word or say anything I would consider "inappropriate" to CC or any member. My last post was as sanitized as it could be, but it was pulled anyway, along with all posts that made reference to it. It's as if it never existed. All I ever did was question what I was getting for my $10/mo fee. So listings like the one above are OK, but my questioning what I was getting for my $10/mo is not. Go figure!

752 store down from I think it was 949??  Almost a 200 store drop!!   :blinkie:
At last calculation, nearly 40% of current stores listings were in the related categories of sports cards, books, magazines and magazine ads. Of the other stores, a good percentage specialize in beads, charms, doilies and craft supplies. With each charm, each bag of beads, and each baseball card being a listing on its own, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how WP got to nearly 150,000 listings.

And another one bites the dust....

Quote:well, I'm done here no sales no hits the people just aren't here. i get more sales on my three free sites. Sales all the time in fact with no cost. I have had two in the same time that I've had none here and less items listed. So somebody please tell me how to close down as I can't find it anywhere. Seems they want you to easily sign up but, leaving is another story. I'm not wasting even 10.00 month we I get more on free sites and there are actually buyers. Sorry guys I gave it a shot. Listed .99 cents listings for 10.00 items offered free shipping listed items at half off that I get sales on full price elsewhere and free sites so it just tells me I'm fishing in a empty pond. What a drag I was really hoping for an alternative to you know where.

More from WP Crybaby2

Quote:Hi, I'm looking for some opinions. I have done a lot to try to improve my store, and I have only had one customer so far, in two months. I have a lot more items to list, like my sisters clothes, and some other Mary Kay items. I am not sure if I should do that here. I am not sure there is a market for my items. My Grandmother's eggs make great gifts, and I do have some Christmas type ones I could list also. I guess after what the other place did to us, I am truely getting discouraged. I really want Wagglepop to take off. I had and still have very high hopes for this auction site. I am just use to selling to about 3-4 customers a week. It seems as if I get a fair amount of traffic on some of my items, but no buyers.

Well, if any one has any ideas, or advise, it would be nice to hear from you. How is your store doing? What have you done to generate traffic and sales? Are things just slow? Whenever I need something I look here first and try to buy it here.

I have joined the circle of stores, upgraded my store, and add my name to be listed for the other future web site promoting Wagglepop stores. Listing auctions, doesn't seem to generate traffic either like it did on the other place.

Quote:Be sure to have breakfast everyone with the group. Post a sampling of your products everyday.

Quote:I wish I could say that my sales are increasing but I haven't sold anything since 9/21. I do have my own website so I'm only promoting that and this is just extra. The holidays are approaching so I'll be expecting more sales.

Quote:Welcome! Sales are slow for many of us still. I haven't had many but I sell a lot of vintage type books that need the right person. I just keep plugging away - I know sooner or later I'll have new customers, as well as lure some of my regulars away from the other place. Some of it is likely my own fault; I've been so busy I haven't done a lot of promoting.

Best of luck to you
!

Quote:I have been here over 2 months and not 1 sale so you're not in this alone. I don't know how much longer I will stay. But it can be the kind of item I'm selling, just don't work here yet.

Best of luck to you and everyone else! Hoping the green comes in for everyone!

Quote:I can't complain Smile
Wagglepop has exceeded my wildest imagination in the few short months I've been here.

I firmly believe that if you want to be successful here (and anywhere else for that matter), you MUST put in the time. I figure I spent 8 hours at my regular job Monday through Friday but with this I'm put in around two hours in the early morning, around 6 hours before my head hits the pillow and weekends?? shoot, except for household chores I probably average 14 to 18 hours each day.

You also have to remember that we're on the cusp of something new & exciting so you have to be patient. There are a lot of us who have taken an informal pledge to stick with this for the Long Haul Smile I think there are a lot of rewards in store for all of us sellers in the near future. Stock your store, tweak your listings, never be satisfied with "good enough"!

Stick with us & enjoy the ride... I think it's gonna be a doozy Smile

Why do I get the feeling this thread goes ON and ON and may be visited
and / or posted to by WP Spam agents?

I mean some times I think some just show up to post,
maybe thinking it will help WP SEO [Image: dontknow.gif]

Here's a clue:

Xppman, there's only been two or three pro-WagglePOOPers here, but they didn't last long.

And if we refer to WagglePOOP as WagglePOOP, they won't get any SEO help. Heh.

Quote:Praise God for He many Blessing......

Apparently someone's prayers are the reason WagglePoop is doing so "well."
