RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
WP'S no. 2 store has been in business over there 2-1/2 months -- NEARLY 4100 ITEMS -- ZERO (that's Z-E-R-O) FEEDBACK.

YES, you can buy WP on eBay. Check out eBay items 200040293247, under "Terms of Sale"

"By bidding on this auction you are agreeing to the terms of sale as stated in all paragraphs included in this auction listing. You are also agreeing to Wagglepops buying & selling policies whether stated here in this listing or not. If you have any questions regarding the terms of this auction please contact us prior to bidding on this item.

eBay item 180043063015 contains store link:www.wagglepop.com/stores/mmtspaperephemera

Nine other ebay items contain: "see my new store "The Best From Me To You" at www.wagglepop.com . Come to the revolution for a new shopping experience."

Eight other eBay store items contain links to the seller's WP stores or direct references to the WP stores.

Never mind that all of these are in CLEAR VIOLATION of eBay policy. Part of the popper mentality is that ethics only apply when they further the interests of the cult's leaders and the devout disciples. HYPOCRITES!!!!!!!

How do poppers explain this? According to Karen, it's eBay's malfunctioning word search feature in the program that just happens to feed WP to Google since it is a word that is searched with such frequency. What BS

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
:Smile I'm pretty sure if WPoopers put links to other auction sites in their listings, listings would be pulled, members warned and eventually expelled. Nothing like getting someone to look at your item, and then trying to syphon them off to another venue they've never heard up. It's a fabulous way to build integrity and trust w/ prospective customers. eBay has a lot to worry about with the minds behind the revulsion, er..."revolution".

LOL @ regic's post. I wonder who's using the brain cell over at WP today? Members are giddy about a word that does not exist beyond the venue showing up in search returns. Ray is not going to brand the word, he is not going to advertise, but somehow, these people think buyers are going to look for it? Beyond bazaar. No wonder Ray has no trouble getting $$ from them.

As for the bet...yeah, I'll take a piece of that. I'm going for June 23, 2007. My logic: Ray won't close the site before eBay's 2007 Fee Hike, which historically occurs in January. All these pathetic little sites will have an increased membership, and he'll hang around for his. Since history repeats itself, about 5 mos will go by before a majority get completely disgusted. Couple WP's history w/ the historically slower STR of June, and KarRay won't be able to delete pi$$ed off sellers' posts quickly enough...he'll pull the plug in self defense.

I did a search on eBay for Wagglepoop and nothing came up.  Assuming eBay search function is actually working and/or the ones advertising for WP are using graphics instead...

Same thing. Then I ticked "title and description" in advanced search and there they are.

Yes, the sellers try to bury the references in the listing. They're not in a title search. This has been going on since WP2 opened. The store items have been there forever and some of the sellers even brag about it in their WP posts, gloating on how they're able to "stick it to" eBay and get away. Gotta love those one-way cult ethics.

Quote:  Hey all, I am still seeking out sites to list on and have been watching Wagglepop grow by leaps and bounds.  My store will be opening in January.

Everyone here is great about buying from each other and making the marketplace viable while it is still young and growing.

I am just curious as to if you had thought about running a weeklong experiment to see what sales numbers would be from outside sources only. I am sure all of us could go a week without buying from each other.

It would give everyone a good idea of how well everyone is doing from the traffic that is coming here.

Just a thought so we have more to cheer about!!!

I just saw this on the boards and thought you would get a kick out it!!  Jerk
Good bye all

More likely to be something to cry about if they try that.  Laughing7

From that same thread:

Quote:Please don't suggest we not buy from one another. I don't have any outside sales so far, and the "internal" sales are what's keeping me going here at the moment! We can tell if it's an outside sale once a sale is made-we don't need to stop buying.

One week of no sales for me would hurt and I think that's the case for many sellers here right now. Many of us are actively encouraging everyone to be sure to post clickable siggies anytime they post so as to get more sales. I have been trying to do any holiday shopping here first for that very reason.

Welcome to Wagglepop! What type items will you be carrying?

and then from Karen

Quote:While not generally a tracked parameter, I can share by personal experience in the course of my responsibilites that the sales to buyers without either a Store or active inventory has consistently been in approximately the 65-75% range, though it's been as high as 85-95% in the last few weeks.

There's been a general misconception about the major sources of sales, as the vast majority do come from outside sources (defined here as "non-selling members) such as direct link or search engine/shopping comparison site referrals.

Much of that perception comes about regarding using Feedback Scores as a measure of counting percentage of sales.

That method of measure in this regard is rather flawed, as the great majority of buyers at this time from those outside sources do not leave feedback at all.

Some of that can be attributed to inexperience, unfamiliar convention, or perhaps we simply are not making it easy enough for these new buyers to do so.

We are discussing and researching ways in which we can evolve the feedback system to be more representative as noted above Smile
