Anyone who sells ANYWHERE and has a business plan that relies on seller-to-seller sales/posting on a venue's forums and expects to make a profit, build a business, or quit their day job is in for a rude awakening.  The purchases you have to make in order to play the game and get a sale are an added (verrrry large) expense.
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site.
best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011

Edited for BBH  Smile

Anyone who sells ANYWHERE and has a business plan that relies on seller-to-seller sales/posting on a venue's forums and expects to make a profit, build a business, or quit their day job has about as much of a chance for
A. Being hit by lightning
B. Winning the lottery

Chiquita:

Your multiple choice question makes a BIG assumption: That there actually IS a chance of making a profit on WP.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I know several people here made comments during the first few pages of this thread back in May that were similar to the the bolded suggestion in the quote below.  It's inevitable with any auction site that as soon as it's indexed in the search engines some of the first people to find the site will be scammers.  :Smile

Quote:Yes the scamers are here I had 2 this weekend both registered with a Canadian address and requested shipping to Africa and I got a spoof paypal email with one of them. I requested fvf credit for both of them and reported both and the spoof to paypal. I really feel sorry for Karen now that the scamers are here she will have even more to deal with. Maybe wagglepop should toughen the registration process to curb the scamers. Just a thought.

From the WP November 2006 newsletter to members:
Quote:Our re-launch was in May of this year, 2006, and our "re-birth" should be somewhere around the same time to mid-2007.

I'm looking forward to your translations of this sentence  :Smile

I don't think any seller on WP can spell.  Are there any?

Cash, nothing you read over there from karenray will make any sense.  Never has, and it's only getting worse.

[b]Translation: OK, so you're all getting pissed and frustated and are ready to give up, but don't do it. We want to squeeze as much money out of you as we can before we tank..

(Incidentally, Edison never controlled the company he founded, Edison General Electric. He was on the payroll as an engineer.)
