You're right BBH - as he turns on built-in features he somehow gains credibility in the poppers' eyes.  After all, he told them he would build it, and he did (or Rob, but what's a little plagarism between friends), so it just adds to their faith in him.  Never thought of it that way, but I think that you are dead-on.

Ray:

Quote:There simply is no quick or simple way to expand, which is one of the many reasons we've decided to take the route we have by making this concern part of the larger sitewide evolution in mid-2007.

In other words like you said Bbh the sitewide evolution translates into activating the rscript built in features. If WP is still standing mid-2007  Laughing7

Anybody have any theories on Scott Bulgar's going AWOL? -- assuming he's still awol from the wp forums... Think there's a hint of a sliver of a possibility he feels he's been taken for a ride after reading what he did here and at OTWA, and wants nothing more to do with WP? -- and perhaps he's looking for a new home for his photos?

Someone asking if search is broken and Karen's response:
Quote:Hello Members,

We're right in the middle of live testing some exciting new changes to the way search works sitewide.

You may experience some intermittent unusual behaviors over the next 24-48 hours, but once completed, we're sure the new search will be a welcome and very powerful new addition Smile

A popper asking about a scammer

Quote:I know this is a scammer, but I don't know where the trick is? Unless they did try to pay through PayPal and PayPal caught them?

Somebody, claiming to be in Dubai, purchased 3 digital cameras from my store, totalling over $1,000.

Even though they said they are in Dubai, Sitemeter tells me that they came from a Canadian address.

In the email, they mention about the laptop that they bought and the phone. I don't sell laptops.

They said that they sent money through PayPal, but I have received no notice from Paypal. Upon checking

No sign of SB posting, but didn't check too many threads. I doubt he has given up WP, he is too big of a supporter. Tongue3

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
"Since he could open it up to international sellers, given that rscript has the features, it doesn't cost him anything, so what do you suppose is the reason he wouldn't do it. All he harps on are the NPB, which he obsessed over during WP1 and justified asking for CC verification for new members to prevent them. "

This was my explanation: "My guess is KarenRay's afraid international buyers will be expecting a real, authentic, e-commerce site (not just some cultist, goosestepping self-glorifying, kindergarden site) something WP cannot deliver, and the whole scam would be exposed world-wide." Ray doesn't give a rat's ass about buyers, regardless of where they come from. It makes more sense to me that he's afraid of being exposed for what he is. He may be able to pull the wool over a few misguided, expatriot eBay sellers, and his cultist friends and family, but remember, this is a guy who has an unsavory history and exists in his present form only through Karen. What would the world of serious, savvy, e-commerce people think about the way he does "business?" No, I'd say he's more afraid of being discovered and becomming the laughing stock of the world of e-commerce.

That question was answered on the Auctionbytes blog in May when they said they refused to provide coverage to, or even mention the name of, any site that hides its ownership information on its WHOIS records.

He's never going to be a contender if he continues to hide basic things like ownership, and the fact that he is uncomfortable disclosing the information (that almost every other auction site does disclose) tells me that he doesn't have what it takes to guide the site through any rough times because he's a :peepants:

If he read even the first 5 pages, he'd get the gist of it.

If he really isn't a Ray plant, and if he really was not around for WP1, the OTWA saga was likely eye-opening. Hopefully he got out before Ray took another $9.95  from him (and for the month AFTER).

Quote:Hello Members,

Beginning today, we are starting the integration of a new more powerful search engine for Wagglepop, which once completed will allow for more precise searches and allow potential buyers maximum flexibility when shopping.

The integration will continue over the next 48-72 hours until completed.

During this period, the may be intermittent unusual search behaviors, but we expect that they will be minimized with each passing hour of the integration period.

Once completed, we'll be having a "Pizza Lunch" to discuss how buyers and sellers alike can optimize the new functionalities.

Thank you for your understanding and support while we complete this important site upgrade.

Forgot to mention that I am the one that put the mistakes in bold. I guess they ALL have to spell that way & use incorrect grammar to understand their cult leader. Bootyshake

And then of course the rah rahs... Puke

Quote:Pizza and New/EXCITING changes! Yahoo!

Quote:Nothing like improvements every few days to keep us encouraged to keep listing! Looking forward to the Pizza Lunch to learn all about it, great going, Wagglepop!

And then Raytard again...

Hello Members,

Assuming the integration goes smoothly over the next few days for the new search on the main site, we'll have a test period for about 4-6 weeks to work out any bugs or issues.

Once the test period is completed, we'll migrate the changes to include Stores searches and individual Store searches as well.

It's a pretty intricate bundle of code, so we want to be absolutely sure we've got everything right before the migration over to Wagglepop Stores Smile
