RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I find it curious that Ra-Kar continually express total disdane for eBay, encourage their "followers" to do likewise and praise them for it, and profess to be the "alternative" to eBay, yet claim they do not want to compete with eBay. The site is patterned after eBay, looks like eBay, and now Ra-Kar are asking poopers what eBay features they would like to see added to WP. The hypocricy of these people never ceases to amaze me.

Yes, Bell, it's all about the CON (as in artist), and nothing about the PRO (as in fessional). Of course, support for WP is a possibility -- anything is possible, but probably less probable than being boiled in the bathtub by Haley's comet.

Oh, and I noticed WP had added another book store (like it doesn't have enough), and another trading card store whose seller claims to have a million cards and does it as a "hobby" (did Ray open another store?). Hello, card guy! All WP sellers are hobbyists, as nobody there (except maybe Ra-Kar) is making a living.  What are these people thinking? As a seller of designer apparel, the last place I'd want to open a store would be on a site that is flooded with competition, showing no sales for similar items, nor hits even. That's insane!

In response to the post Chiquita showed us about the tools....

Hello Members,

This thread is providing an incredible amount of good information that we'll be using to check against much of the preliminary specifications regarding listing and listing management.

A good portion of the budget has been dedicated for these concerns specifically, as we feel it deserves as much attention to detail and utility as possible.

One suggestion in particular that we will not be able to support is feedback "importing", as there are some very specific possible legal ramifications to such functionality, were we to embrace the general idea.

Importing of eBay-hosted images would be similarly prohibited from consideration, as they are protected by watermarking.

Third-party support will likely come from similarly emerging and aggressive-type smaller companies like Wagglepop, as many of the current "known" providers have an existing relationship with eBay that may prohibit competitive application development or affiliations.

Similarly, as PayPal is an eBay-owned company, some of the automated sales management features when using PayPal would not be available to us, though we have specific plans that we think can make for a very effective workaround and solution.

However, noting that, the restrictions or circumstances above will not hinder at all our ability to bring more effective and powerful listing and listing/sales management tools to Wagglepop Smile

Wonder what happened to Scott?

I wish some of the poopers who managed to walk away would come back here and share their experiences--for the insight of others and lurkers.

It's highly possible Mr. Bulgar has *seen the light* re WP, and he's probably a bit angry and embarassed to come back here and say so. I probably would be in the same circumstance -- especially if I had read threads where I was personally raked over the coals. Since his stores are still up, my guess is he won't remove his listings at WP until he has found somewhere else to list his photography.

Because of his absence (unless he's just on vacation and away from his PC), I'm beginning to think he is not an actual appointed RR troll.

I agree. I had a feeling he wasn't a troll. When I asked him if he'd been around for Wp1, his reaction made me think that. I think he's a real seller who was looking for something to "believe in."

To Scott, if he's lurking:
I think many of the posters here would be interested to know your feelings. Just because you were insensitive to many of the people that were genuinely trying to warn sellers about WP, and genuinely asking hard questions--doesn't mean you'll get ripped apart over here if you've finally become clear-headed.

Above all else, the people that post here want the freedom to ask serious business questions. If you've realized some of the issues with WP, then you might be willing, ready, and able to ask hard questions, too.

I am happy for your business if you've decided to make a change. I hope you can find a *real* place to sell your photography. You might check this board's areas on other venues and auction sites for some realistic ideas, if you haven't already headed off somewhere.
