RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Gamer,
I was speaking not just for myself, but for many others, when I posted on Blogging Stocks. But if I were an objective lurker to the thread, I might get the impression of being the dissenting voice in the crowd, as the WP wagons had circled around me (as they did on the WP boards). Posting your own perceptions not only gave credence to my posts, but reinforced our observations to readers and would-be investors. The good thing about my experience with WP is that BECAUSE my questions were left unanswered, and I was chastized for even asking, I was left no other choice but to seek answers elsewhere, which lead me to TT and other boards -- where I have discovered a wealth of information on e-commerce. With all the help I have, and will receive, I should be able to get my own site up and running in a few months, despite my cyber-retardedness.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I found an old post on OTWA regarding the original CS rep from WP1. Her name was Amanda and many people thought she was Ray just like many now believe Karen is Ray. So one of the posters used a tool that is called the Gender Genie

Quote:Inspired by an article in The New York Times Magazine, the Gender Genie uses a simplified version of an algorithm developed by Moshe Koppel, Bar-Ilan University in Israel, and Shlomo Argamon, Illinois Institute of Technology, to predict the gender of an author. Read more at nature.com.

They ran a CS post through the genie and it came back with the following results

Quote:Words: 194

(NOTE: The genie works best on texts of more than 500 words.)

Female Score: 167
Male Score: 424

The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: male!

The tool is still available at http://www.bookblog.net/gender/genie.html

That is also how I found TT, too many questions, and no answers.  I didn't even bother posting on the boards at WP as I read many of my questions being asked by others and couldn't believe what I was reading for replies.  I also had a problem with WP invoicing and I emailed C/S with the problem.  Immediately I received a response from Karen, stating it had to be on my end, that their system logs show no problems and blah blah.  Karen even went as far as to email my customer telling them I had a problem in my WP setup.  I did not ask her to do this and why she did I do not know, but I was floored.  Karen did not even copy me on this email.  I emailed the customer apologizing for the invoice reflecting an incorrect amount, even though there was nothing in my setup that would have caused, a buy it now price to change on it's own and they replied that Karen had already emailed them.  My customer forwarded the email to me and sure enough she had.  Well about a month later, a couple more people started posting on the boards that it had happen to them and then suddenly no more invoice problem that I apparently only had.  I lost all faith and knew WP would lie at any cost.  I started searching Google and found TT and many other forums saying pretty much the same thing.  I emailed Karen to close my store immediately.  My store and account were terminated.  It continues to blow my mind all that I have read about Ray and WP, so I only hope others will look for answers too.  They will certainly be suprised, as we were, I am sure.

That is another deception that is unforgivable if it is true.  I wish we could find out for sure.  Has anybody ever heard of Karen before Wagglepop, or googled her name to see if anything comes up?

I have a question,    Tongue3

Is there something in the WP program that keeps CC from sending messages through the system.  It just hit me while I was reading PC Gamer's post.  All contact to CC is through private email and not through the system.

On the big E, messages go to customers through system mail and a copy to your email address, on WP you only receive messages from CC in your private email.

Think about it Alskling and PC, don't you think that a message to inquire about your bill or a customer with a question to CC should go through the system?  Better tracking and logging, but no...it goes to your personal account and a CC account setup outside the system.

Is this to maintain a list of email addresses that are proven?  To keep replies and other information from being tracked to the business?

Alskling, from the beginning when you spoke out on WP, had a bigger impact on others than I think you even realize. I remember lurking on the boards and searching for posts made by you because I knew that it would shake up the place. Even after you left and came here your voice still carries impact. SB followed you all the way to TT just to try and discredit you. You were a threat then, and you still are. I believe the blogginstocks post you made caused a panic in bunny land, and the poppers came out in droves to attempt to silence you. It didn't work so they tried to throw pebbles at TT, that also didn't work. They didn't circle your wagon, because you drove a steamroller right through all the BS they were spinning.  Occasion14

The truth you have spoken may not get through to those diehard folks, but other people with serious doubts, and concerns are listening, and so none of what you are doing is in vain.

For PC, that is unbelievable that Ray would email your customer and attempt to blame you. That man will never take responsibility for anything he has done and is still doing.  Angryfire

Thanks Chiquita!

You can find all the information you want about Karen Morrow at www.karenmorrow.com

She is a singer/actress and was on the Jim Nabor's show, isn't that of Ray's era?

Laughing4 Well boy howdy

I did a test of the gender genie, and used prior posts by Karen on WP, I did two and both came back as male. I did alskling's post above and it came back as female. Hmmm, I am not saying the tool is perfect but isn't that interesting that the former CS rep "Amanda" came back as male, and Karen's posts are also ranking male. :blinkie:
