Quote:Regarding multiple clicks, AdSmart is a rather advanced system, and extremely effective countermeasures are in place to guard against multiple clicks from the same visitor being recorded as unique (and chargeable), over a specified time period.

An additional countermeasure is also in place, but the details of that and the time period noted above are both proprietary and kept secret, for obvious reasons Wink

I am bad  :-\
I clicked on one of the ads 3 times and the popper got all excited to see the number of clicks, blind trust that countermeasures are in place.  I am tempted to pm the seller so they can see if they are charged for the clicks
Good bye all

As an online seller (and buyer) for many, many years, I do not understand what this new "feature" does for sellers except to cost them more money and put more money in the pockets of the powers that be. I only came here because I heard about it from a friend. I would never have found it on my own. As of yet, and I check weekly, the majority of items here I can buy cheaper at free classified advertising sites at which I recognize many of the sellers here. Also, the selections seem to be paltry, at best. Yes, if the seller has a niche market, there are plenty of postcards, photographs and ads to choose from. Overall, as I have been checking back, as a prospective buyer only for personal items, I do not see anything that makes this a true "buyer friendly" site. As far as selling goes, I would not open a store at this time. Wagglepop would have to evolve quite a bit before I would make that sort of investment of my time. I considered running a few auctions, but the traffic is just not here.

Cordially,

Julia

Yes, I saw Amaretto's post, and was about to put it here, but was sniped by Sweet Girl. Appears some of the natives are restless over this wonderful AdSmart program, that must have cost WP an absolute fortune to create. Who cares about bringing in buyers from the outside when all Poopers need is their incestuous buying/selling venue? Wag-L-poop operates in secrecy and insulates its members from the outside world. Is this what any legitimate business would do?

A spade is a spade is a spade, and these folks are cultists, with blind faith in Ray. Sad, but true.

Quote:Karen,

I guess my point is that Adsmart is not a response to the threads started by you to find out what store owners need and want. It is just a WP revenue generating tool.

I was really hoping that the many requests over the last few months to fix invoicing would be top priority as that is a tool that is vital to sellers.

I truly do not understand the cloak and dagger with the "non disclosure agreements" Simply put, you are going to advertise or you are not and it will be via conventional media or online.

Please remember Karen, there are many true blue sellers here who are sticking it out and paying their fees even though their sales do not cover the store fees, yet. Yes, it takes time to build up a business but when basic needs are not met, even the most steadfast will leave.

I am always happy to see my friends do well and many store owners who are already here continue to encourage me to watch and see the growth. So I fill out my spreadsheet and watch. I guess my decision will be based on what happens over the holiday season.

Time to sit back and watch.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
"I found the projections that WP has set for itself and WP has surpassed it's breakeven point so it must now be profitable. Not only collecting fees for stores, but FVF's. Adding Adsmart is a revenue generator for WP, not an "advertising" plan or way to bring new buyers to the site which is more important than redirecting customers that are already here. Bringing in outside buyers not only generates income for store owners but for WP. Sales go up, WP earnings go up through FVF's."

WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE GET ON THE WP BOARDS AND TELL THOSE PEOPLE THAT KARAY DOESN'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT BUYERS, NEVER DID. WP generates little revenue from FVFs because IT HAS NO SALES. What KaRay want is guaranteed monthly income from stores and other solid sources, such as this AdSmart program, which is the most ridiculous excuse for a seller to spend money I can think of. HEY WP SELLERS, THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!  Who does this benefit? You sellers have already found each other with Share Your Wares, Breakfast Chats, clickable siggies, etc. WHAT MORE WILL THE ADSMART PROGRAM DO TO BRING YOU BUSINESS WITHIN THE WP COMMUNITY THAT YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY DONE? KaRay must think all their sellers are such idiots that they'd follow WP off in a spaceship with the Halebob Comet if KaRay asked them to. This is beyond belief!

Revised: Come to think of it -- Could it be that part of the reason KaRay came up with this program was to make up for the difference in lost revenue from the 25% drop in store count. Hmmmm

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hi everyone. I have been a member of wagglepop since August. I have bought 1 item. I have only bought one item because most of what they sell that I like, I can make myself or buy cheaper somewhere else. I have been sitting back watching the site, posting an occasional response. I wasn't about to open a store until I was done reading as much as I could about WP1. I won't be selling on Wagglepop. The latest stunt they pulled with the adsmart clinched it for me. The only reason they started this was to put money in his pockets. Why else would you implement something like that when the only buyers are the sellers? Just to put more cash in his bank accounts.

I'm glad I wasn't one of the ones that got suckered into selling there. I had a bad feeling from the first thread I read there. I will still be an active member there (maybe not after the post I made in the adsmart thread). I did notice I wasn't the only one to question the latest and greatest thing they implemented.

Thank for allowing me to post this here. And a big HI  Wave  Wave to all the x-poppers...I've missed reading your posts (but didn't miss you getting bashed and attacked the way you were. Looks like it might be my turn this time.

That my dear is exactly what Ray is doing, not to mention increasing a guaranteed monthly income. He makes nothing on FVF due to the pathetic # of sales generated monthly.  Thumbsup

Someone needs to notify the company Adsmart asap about this infringement, otherwise Ray or a lurking popper will tip him off, and he will change the name. He should have called called it Adstupid.  Laughing7

He also just set these people up big time for click abuse, look at Google.

Just for the record I said the gender genie wasn't scientific. It is funny though, I put all kinds of different individuals posts in it for fun. I came up female, but was close to being "male". I must have been in full B*tch mode at the time. I have no other defense. :blinkie:

Platzski, I love that avatar, it reminds me of a nintendo character ba bomb. So you are da bomb!
Where is ORUS, and IANHBG?

Smileywelcome Racedream, I didn't open a store either. I had a friend bashed on the boards, emailed her, and she sent me here, closed her store, and took one last shot at Karen before leaving. I believe that post was deleted.
