RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Alskling ~ I agree w/ you on the eBay deal. I am one of the lucky ones, if you will. My primary biz is the stuff eBay "wants", brand new and retail. I specialize in collectibles and still do very well on auction with the retired, harder to find pieces - BUT they are still NIB retail items and I think that's why I've fared ok thus far.
I was really angry with eBay for awhile with the dumb decisions they made. But like with anything that's thrown at your business, you sit down, regroup and change your plan. I did, and so far (knock on wood and crossing all fingers & toes) I've not only survived but done better in the last 2 months than I even expected. I'm certainly not an eBay cheerleader, but I think its all about finding what works for you and sticking with it - wherever that is. Unfortunately, WP sounded great with the low fees and all but the reality is the $1000.00+ I've spent on eBay this month gave me a RETURN ON INVESTMENT (WPer's you might want to look that term up - basic business!). Anyway ~ just glad I'm immune to Kool-Aid. Never was a big fan to begin with, hehe.

Quote:I was sucked right in. I am not bitter about it. I learned a lot during my brief stay. I am totally deprogrammed now. Without my WP experience, I would never have found TT which provides more actual business help and free therapy to go with it. I was never sucked in, just needed a quick place to put 1700 items from eBay while I researched the "right" place to put them. Kinda like a storage facility.. My stay netted about as many sales as a storage facility would. Deprogramming was never needed..I quit cheering for anyone but myself a long time ago. A warm welcome to all the new boardies.....The therapy is great! :turkey4 |

Well, I must say, the reading gets more and more interesting.
I got sucked in because it was my first time out of the gate into the world of online sales. That's okay, though, live and learn. Why is it that anytime anyone posts about WP ANYWHERE, the cheerleaders swarm like flies on a carcass with nothing new to say?
I hate stupid people!

Sales are down again for last week at WP. The site wide sell through rate has fallen to .8 percent. I am waiting to see if we will get the weekly cheerful message from Karen about how the sales are holding steady and how WP growth has exceeded their expectations.
Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffi...glepop.com
Quote:For the week ending 11/19, we recorded 1376 sales, down slightly from 1570 one week prior, likely due to increased competition both online and offline during this holiday season. The month-to-month sales increase since May has been incredible, and we anticipate that trend will continue through the remainder of 2006 and into 2007. With holiday competition in "full swing", be sure to work as hard as possible for the attention of your potential customers, and deliver quality across the board.(I added the bolding and underline) Oh please someone start a post about this bunch of lies!! As you can see by the Alexa traffic report Wpoop has taken a big hit in traffic, not as many stores, not as many store owners going to WP to check out their traffic counters to see if anyone has been there! :o Of course, as you can see there was a spike in traffic a while back, wonder what was going down on the boards during that time,
Good bye all

The sellers have spent their "spending money" on the new adsmart campaign. So, no pity sales for the other sellers.
I wonder if they realize as they clickety click away that their money is clickety clicking in KaRay's pockets.

It is just me or does anyone else picture Ka/Ray sitting at their computer in the middle of the night wearing a pink bathroom and fuzzy pink slippers clicking on all the little sellers ads saying... "10 cents, 10 cents, 10 cents... only a 100,000 more and I get my new Mercedes!!!!

Now some may say I have edited the quote out of context.. Somehow I think it all fits nicely. The "full swing" means sales should be going up....I would think.. |
