RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:I am confused about a few things and would like them addressed once and for all.

1) Below you will find the site goals for the next three years as stated in wagglepop today however it seems these goals are false or someone did not get to the corporate accountant at wagglepop after the fee increase on the big site and tell him his math is fuzzy. It seems to me that wagglepop has turned a small profit the past few months or they need to restate there goals so we don't think that. I remember back when I registered there were over 900 registered stores in September and over 100,000 listings as well. The store count has decreased but the listings have gone up. It has been stated that if your account was not in good standing you would be terminated. As of today 11/21/06 there is 701 stores ( 35 featured or showcase and 666 basic ) which translates to about $9000.00 in revenue for wagglepop each month. I would say the total site revenue with store fees and all other fees is less than $15000.00 a month although that is my estimate. Please restate the goals to reflect the correct "Break Even" mark or stop lying about a so called loss that wagglepop is having each month. The benchmark should match what you are saying or are we all taken for fools!

Date Benchmark Listings (All Formats) Stores**
As of 11/5/06 Current 158,841 724
June 2007 "Break Even" 35,000 700***
June 2008 Intermediate Goal 1% 550,000 1,250
June 2009 Site Goal 1.5% 825,000 1,875

2) Adsmart:
a) are you going to eliminate the featured listing option? It seems senseless to pay $4.95 to be at the top of a catagory when you can spend a dime for a keyword ad and be in a better spot.
b) isn't this just a simple keyword linked text ad?
c) also how will wagglepop copyright adsmart when this name is already owned by another website.
d) wouldn't it be better for wagglepop to purchase "adwords" off another site if you know what I mean to drive traffic to wagglepop?
e) isn't this just another way to bilk sellers of money for onsite advertising and shouldn't it be included in the smart sell pro package?
f) don't we have enough onsite advertising? wouldn't some good offsite advertising bring more buyers and sellers here if we are going to pay for it through adsmart?

3) Sales:
Does the sales report include sales that were bogus such as from scammers? If so can we get a more acurate number? For instance I have had 6 sales so far 4 of which were bogus from scammers. Is this accounted for in the sales report?

I have more but that is enough for now. Please clear up these issues in this post. If you disagree with these questions feel free to disagree. Proof is in the print and some would like to know.

Drat.  Sniped by Kristina !  Just read that above.  As soon as RR gets out of bed and signs on, it will be gone, betcha.

Apparently in the land of the free (items) and not-so-brave sellers - realism is considered naughty.

Not just wagglepop though.  I'm offering free hosting to anyone that can do a simple google search on American commonwealths on the eBay stores board - and apparently nobody knows how to do a simple search.  The question was what US territory is a commonwealth besides Puerto Rico - for free website hosting.  Nobody has googled the answer yet.  Either they are google impaired or just not all that interested in getting a real website going - instead clinging to a familiar ship that is sinking - the eBay store.

Heh.  I was going to say Virgin Islands, but google says that's just a territory.

Perhaps there are so many bogus and raw deals out there, Jen, that folks just don't believe a good deal when they actually do run across bona fide one.

Probably - and I don't run EZ as a true business.  More as a pay-it-forward thing.  Open source technologies have provided me with so much that I couldn't afford if I had to go back and pay for it - I just use EZ as a bit of a way of paying back to the web community for all that I have taken over the years.  I could see that some would just be skeptical, and others just wouldn't know that it's Northern Mariana Islands  Lol I'm still waiting for the pink slap - I usually get slapped when I give things away.  Of course, when sellers give away things on eBay, eBay expects some seller fees  Lol

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Jen -- PLEASE LOOK IN YOUR PM BOX. I have a very important message for you.

To Puppy and Race: You guys rock. Back in August and September when I was getting all the heat virtually no one was coming to my defense, NONE of the cheerleaders were listening, Mr. Vulgar was calling me a thief and a liar, and Karen was coming down on me like a jet-propelled avalanche. I would have been easier to shut up and go away, which is what they all wanted, but I couldn't help calling it like I saw it and the fact is, wombat poo poo stinks, even when it's holy wombat poo poo coming from KaRay.

I asked the advertising question at the end of July and was bascially told to read the "plan." The plan, which I had read before coming to the board, was for no advertising on the part of WP, or that's how I interpreted it. I brought this observation to the boards. Oh, no, says Karay, "we will advertise in OTHER ways", whatever that meant. I took it to mean spamming and getting sellers to pay for it themselves. When I came back with THAT observation, KaRay gave me some Wagglespeak spin about "sellers being the captains, and we're just here to stear the ship."

This advertising issue has been brought up a number of times since, and I could see the writing on the wall. Why should WP advertise anyway? Karay doesn't give a FF about buyers, since very little income is derived from FVFs. All that's going to happen is more and more programs like this ridiculous AdSmart campaign which is a thinly-veiled way of getting poppers to part with the bucks they don't make and hand it over to Ray. And when everybody jumps on board the AdSmart program and still see no results, just you watch, another hair-brained scheme will suddenly appear that will cost poppers dough and will promise them business. Meanwhile, Karay is stearing the ship right to the bank, and will continue on that course until Poopers get the message. Karay have nothing to lose and Poopers have nothing to gain. WAKE UP POOPERS! Why waste all that time and effort setting up, listing, promoting a store on a venue nobody's heard of, when you can just write a big fat check to Ray? The results are the same.

Oh, and JEN: is the answer to your question Northern Mariana Islands? I haven't Googled or anything, but that name seems to stick in the dark recesses of some cerebral fold when I took Ethnography of Polynesia, Mirconesia and Melanesia in college when I was studying by candlelight.

Oh, and one other thing. In response to the provocative posts being allowed to stay: I was as surprised as anybody here, that Ray's censor hatchet wasn't busy doing a lot of "creative editing" on the AdSmart and Help WP Advertise threads over there. Then, I got to thinking. I was edited fiercely and eventually ex-communicated. I was not in violation of any board rules, that I was aware of, although Karen said that's why the posts were axed. When I asked for her to excerpt the parts that were in violation and which parts of the rules policy they violated, I never received a response. OK. Let's analyze what happened here:

I posted comments, questions and observations threatening to Karay. Rather than deal with them, the posts were deleted, often within seconds, before any members saw them. Eventually I was deleted. Karay thought that would solve the problem with Designers Bargains. It didn't. Fact is, I've probably done way more to discredit WP and plant seeds of doubt in some members' Koolaid-laden heads after they banned me from the cite than I probably could have done (or would have felt compelled to do) had I been allowed to stay and posts allowed to stand. Karay totally underestimated the power I had as an excommunicated member and the fact that I'm not afraid to use it. Putting me in front of the firing squad might have been a mistake they have since come to regret, and it could very well be, that Karay is/are not all that willing to make the same mistake twice. Another fact to consider is that MANY Poopers have already viewed the "provocative" posts now on the threads, and their obvious deletion could be the gentle breeze that shakes a few of the newly-positioned fence-sitters.

QUOTED from Brian from Buyitwithus (stupid name anyway):
I for one know totally where Karen is coming from 5 months and we are to be running Tv ads and radio spots all over the country. Wow does anyone here realize the cost and effect of such a thing?

When has WP ever said anything to that fact?  They are making this up as they go along!!

Brian is evil and he must be destroyed! Violent1

To be more clear... WP has never given any inkling of any of their ad plans and poppers in turn have not asked for TV spots... just something!!
